7 Places to Visit in Tokyo
Time to tick Tokyo off that Bucketlist

Japan is one of those places that is on everyone’s bucket list. Even though I’ve already been to Japan a few times, there’s just so much to explore! One of the main areas of exploration that I love going back to is Tokyo! Tokyo is divided up into a whole heap of prefectures, meaning that the city of Tokyo is a lot larger than you can even imagine! For all those dreaming of Tokyo, here’s a list of seven amazing places to visit.
1. The SEGA Arcade
The SEGA Arcade in Akihabara is one of the first things that you’ll notice walking out of Akihabara train station. It’s a huge seven-story building where each floor is dedicated to a different type of game. From claw machines to dance games, making it hours and hours of entertainment. Especially when the prices are all so adorable (or contain figurines). There’s a huge sense of achievement winning something from one of these machines but that’s not all the Arcade has to offer! On the top floor of the Arcade, they usually host a cafe that is themed to a popular game for a few months or so. When I was there last, it was dedicated to Person 5, with themed food, decor and coasters to take home. It’s a fun way to spend a couple of hours, or even a whole day if you have the time!

2. Teamlab Borderless Exhibit
TeamLab has become world-renowned for their exhibits in Japan, including the Borderless exhibit. An incredible showcase of technology and art that you can immerse yourself in for hours. When originally coming to this exhibit, I was unsure of how much time I would spend there, but I gave myself an entire day just in case. And it needed that entire day. There’s so much to explore, and it’s almost beyond words to explain! You’ll just have to see it for yourself.

3. DisneySea
Japan is the only country that has DisneySea. Which makes it interesting in itself. And although it’s not as Disney princess orientated as Disneyland, we were able to see almost all cartoon character mascots there in special outfits! From Daisy Duck in a Jasmine themed outfit to Mickey Mouse in Safari clothing. There are so many more rides here that are more orientated towards an older audience, such as the Indiana Themed rides and the Journey to the Centre of the Earth ride. The most amazing part of all of this though, is their; Light the Night Fantasia show. We weren’t sure what to expect, but the show is a fight between Mickey Mouse’s Fantasia and the darkness from Maleficent. The show is conducted on the water and shows beautiful projections from classic Disney films, and a whole dragon, yes that’s right, Maleficent as a dragon, appearing through the smoke. It was incredible.

4. Cafe Ron Ron
Cafe Ron Ron in Shibuya is a delicious buffet/conveyer belt restaurant, where you pay 1800YEN for all you can eat desserts. It is well worth the money, with small delicious sweets and a few savoury snacks to have in-between. It’s best to come when your stomach is empty so you can get the most out of it and try everything possible.

5. Underground Bars
This one is a little bit of a secret to tourists, but Shinjuku has a whole array of local underground bars and restaurants that you can find! It takes a little digging but just walking around the streets you’ll find one or two that are worth going to. If you know a little bit of Japanese these are a whole lot easier to navigate, but these underground bars have great food and good drinks!

6. Harajuku Photobooths
Harajuku is known for their fun, over the top fashion, stores and cafes. Their photo booths are no different. In Harajuku, you’ll find a little staircase underground, where you’ll see an incredible amount of photo booths laid out. Each one is a little different but they all have incredibly over the top editing features, which is a lot of fun to play around with!

7. Breakfast at Tiffany’s on Cat Street
If you’ve ever thought about having Breakfast at Tiffany’s, look no further. The Tiffany and Co store on Cat Street offers exactly that! With all kinds of Tiffany themed foods, and even Tiffany blue lemonade! You can pretend your Audrey Hepburn and genuinely enjoy your food too. The cafe itself is by reservation only, but if you just want to stop by, you can grab a croissant or donut at their takeaway counter!

Well there you have it! 7 places you must visit in Tokyo!
