7 Best Pumpkin Patches in The Country
Even though Fall & Halloween may look different this year, we want to take you on a virtual tour of the best pumpkin patches in the US!
As fall starts to roll around again this year, we are so excited to take part in all of our favorite fall traditions and activities. From decorating our home to drinking a cozy hot drink from our local coffee shop, there's just something about the Fall season that makes us feel warm and happy inside. Above all those though, there's the time-honored tradition of going to a pumpkin patch, finding that perfect Jack-O-Lantern gourd, and maybe even picking up some apple cider or other fall goodies!
While Fall and Halloween may feel a bit different this year, we still want to celebrate that magic we always feel when we walk through a pumpkin patch, so let's take a tour through some of the best pumpkin patches throughout the US and maybe even start to plan for next year!
The Great Pumpkin Patch - Arthur, IL

When we think of the quintessential pumpkin patch, the top one that comes to our mind is The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur, Illinois. This is a 6th generation family farm, officially called The 200 Acres (can there be a cuter name for a farm?). They've been a staple of this small town for a long time, and we can see why! Their fields boast over 300 varieties of pumpkins and gourds that originate from over 30 different countries! It's like walking through an international pumpkin patch! Plus, if you are looking for a place to get unique pumpkins for your Fall decor, you won't find a better selection than this.
But, The 200 Acres farm (almost reminds us of the Hundred Acre Woods) is much more than just a pumpkin patch. They also have an onsite bakery that sells homemade Amish baked goods, a seed store where you can bring home some high quality and unique seeds to your own garden, and they even have a whole flock of animals you can visit, including chickens and llamas!

Jumbo's Pumpkin Patch - Middletown, MD
If ever there was a name that made us want to visit a pumpkin patch, Jumbo's Pumpkin Patch hits that nail on the head! It invokes the feeling of endless rows of brightly orange pumpkins, big fall treats, and all the hot apple cider we could want! And after researching this pumpkin patch, it looks like those feelings are all correct! This east coast patch has over 30 acres of pick your own pumpkins, and the best part, they are only about $0.49/lb! Talk about affordable!
This patch also offers hayrides, face painting, a HUGE shopping area full of fall crafts and goodies, and of course a 15-acre corn maze! I'm not sure if we could ever get out of such a big maze!

Jack Creek Farms - Templeton, CA

Jack's Creek is another pumpkin patch that has been a staple of their community for many years! This 5th generation family farm has been serving up the best local crops and spooky pumpkins to the Templeton area for over 20 years!
Even better, while many pumpkin patches have chosen to close due to the pandemic right now, Jack's Creek is still open! With added safety measures in mind of course!
When you visit Jack's Creek Farm, you'll feel instantly transported to a more simple, relaxing time. You can leisurely stroll through their U-Pick pumpkin patch, sip on a delicious apple cider slushy (YES PLEASE) and take in the beautiful nature around you. They even have U-Pick options for their apple orchards, blackberries, peaches, and so much more.
Other activities at the farm include a fort maze, a wooden train for kids, and even great bird watching on their beautiful property!
The Great Pumpkin Farm - Clarence, NY

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! Erm, we mean it's the Great Pumpkin Farm! We've always wanted to visit New England and especially upstate NY during the Fall, and we are so jealous of all the locals that get to go to this cute pumpkin patch each year! Celebrating their 25th year serving their local community, The Great Pumpkin Farm is a destination for pumpkins, their famous fall festival, and much more.
Their on-site bakery, aptly named The Pumpkin Palace, is a wonderful building full freshly baked pies, filling the air instead the shop with all those cozy smells of fall that we love.

Kroll's Fall Harvest Farm - Waukegan, IL
As I'm sure you can tell from other patches on this list, we LOVE family farms that have been serving up fall fun for their communities for awhile, and Kroll's Fall Harvest Farm is no different! This farm has been a Fall staple in Waukegan for 27 years, and they don't look to be slowing down!
