Sydney, the ‘Harbour City' is known for its long list of restaurants for foodies to entice their taste buds. But nothing beats the joy of dining out with your family and friends. As an experienced tourist guide, it has been my passion to follow the eateries that serve drool-worthy bites. So, here I share some of the best to savour the delectable flavours of Sydney.

Lunch Cruises in Sydney

Would you prefer to go out for lunch, to soak in the awe-inspiring views of Sydney Harbour? If yes, one of the first options you should try is the lunch served aboard the Harbour Cruises like I did on one of my birthdays. Indulge in the fresh flavours of buffet lunch prepared onboard that comes with an array of salads, entree, and desserts. Get ready to treat your tastebuds with some healthy and wholesome food. What’s more? You can also click some scenic photographs from the expansive decks of the catamaran. Some of the best I have in my gallery were clicked while enjoying a boat lunch in Sydney.

Dunes Palm Beach

Do you love dining at an alfresco-style restaurant? If yes, head to the Dunes Palm Beach that lies amidst beautiful parklands for a long lunch. What made this dining experience more exciting for me was its Mediterranean inspired menu with a special focus on the seafood. Make sure to try their ‘tiger prawn nuoc cham betel leaf tacos with cucumber avocado pineapple salsa’– a true culinary delight!

Totti’s

Dining at Totti’s is sure to be a remarkable experience for its beauty in simplicity. Totti’s has established itself as a hotspot in Bondi for the last 5 years. And this modern Italian eatery has outlets in Rozelle and CBD that captured my heart with its enticing menu. Headed by two chefs, Mike Eggert and Khan Danis, this restaurant has something for everyone. Feast on the handmade pasta accompanied by a side of wood-fired puffy bread - a combination that will leave a lasting impression!

The Boathouse Rosebay

Soak in the maritime ambience in the company of your friends! The Boathouse Rosebay, owned by the Boathouse Group, promises to create experiences people love, with high-quality fresh food, impeccable hospitality service, and cosy interiors. Dine at this Eastern Suburbs venue perched on the water and appreciate the stunning views of the Sydney Harbour. And the view gets even better on a rainy day – one of the best in the city I have come across. And the crab, oysters, scallops and prawns, is definitely a must-try for its perfectly balanced flavours!

Kiln, Ace Hotel

Elevate your dining experience with the Harbour City’s coolest rooftop restaurants. Located at the 18th storey of the Ace Hotel, this contemporary Australian restaurant is one that draws inspiration from Japan and Southeast Asia. If you're looking for a restaurant focusing on high-quality regional produce, seafood, and meat, this is another option I would recommend. Some of the dishes of this restaurant I loved include, Grilled Octopus, Raw Tuna Nori Tomato Jelly, and Prawns Roasted Garlic Butter.

Bert’s Bar & Brasserie

Seek refinement and tranquillity at Bert’s Bar & Brasserie, an upscale and tranquil establishment to relish some premium wine and European dishes in Sydney! Nestled on the grounds of Merivale’s The Newport, treat yourself with the stunning vistas of Pittwater and vintage-styled interiors and appease your tastebuds with some flavourful food. Savour the mouthwatering cuisine, and experience their casual yet professional service. Don’t miss out on the Spanner crab pasta – It's my personal favourite here.

Now that you have discovered some of the culinary havens in Sydney, which of the above-mentioned options would you love to try?
