The mountains are calling and I must go.” -John Muis. The world has known Nepal as the country of mountains, cultures, languages, Lord Buddha and many other things. Thousands of tourists visit Nepal to explore the breathtaking beauty of Nepal and its landscapes. Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Chitwan, Mustang, Everest, Annapurna, Tilicho and many other places have been the major destinations of tourists. The world is made aware of the beauty of these places. However, there are some exciting and beautiful places to explore in Nepal which might not have come to your knowledge. Let’s visit five of those beautiful hidden places in Nepal.

1) Tyangboche Monastery

Everyone in the world knows about the highest peak in the world. Tyanboche is located at 3,867 meters in the eastern region of Nepal. It is the largest gompa in the Khumbu region. The ancient masterpiece was made in 1923. The 1934 earthquake destroyed the beautiful monastery but it was subsequently rebuilt. Tenzing Norgay, the first man to climb Everest was born in the area of the village and was sent to Tyangboche monastery to become a monk. Many tourists visit the village and monastery as part of their trekking route. However, the beautiful paradise is still missing from many tourist visit list. If you’re undertaking a trek to the Everest Base Camp, don’t miss out on checking out this monastery in Tyangboche along the way.

2) Bhedetar

Bhedetar is a popular domestic tourist destination in the eastern region of Nepal. However, the place remains unwritten in the travel lists of thousands of tourists visiting Nepal. It is 1,420 meters high from sea level. It is a small hill station just 16 kilometers from Dharan (one of the biggest cities in the eastern region). The unpredictable weather makes it very famous. One minute it hides in the thick fog and moments later it reveals itself. It is not only the destination for a relaxed holiday but for many other things- Namaste Waterfall, paragliding, canoeing, and trekking. I don’t think you want to miss this beautiful place if you visit the eastern region of Nepal.

3) Langtang

Langtang is a region located in the Himalayas of Nepal to the north of the capital city. Langtang region’s people are mostly Tamang. Their costumes, traditionally built houses, household products, and their tradition reflects their rich culture and ethnicity. Langtang National Park is famous for endangered species and plants. Himalayan Black Bear, Red Panda, Rhesus monkeys are some endangered species available here. The Langtang region also includes Lake Gosaikunda. It is a sacred place for Hindus. Thousands of Hindus travel Gosaikunda in the month of August. Popular activities for tourists in the area include trekking, climbing, rafting, and sightseeing. Villagers are always there to help you with your travels.

4) Thorong La

Thorong La is a mountain pass with an elevation of 5,461 meters above sea level. The pass is located on the trail which connects the village of Manang to the east, with the temple of Muktinath on the west. Traders use this trail regularly to buy and sell local products. Most trekkers cross the pass from east to west, because it’s the safest and easiest way to travel. The safest months to cross this path are March-April and October-November. Besides these months trekking becomes difficult because of avalanches, frostbite, and storms. If you’re going for the famous Annapurna Circuit Trek, you’ll have to conquer this beautiful pass.

5) Api Nampa Conservation Area

Established in 2010, Api Nampa Conservational Area is the habitat of much-endangered flora and fauna. ANCA is characterized by diverse topography and geography with high mountains of the Himalayas. These variations result in a diverse ecosystem and various species of plants and animals. Named after two mountain peaks, Mt Api (7,132) and Mt Nampa (6,757), ANCA is also rich in cultural sacred and spiritual heritage. Api Nampa is an area of stunning natural beauty and offers solitude for trekkers far different from the central Himalayas. Hiking trails run directly up to Mahakali River. For many tourists visiting Nepal, ANCA provides a fascinating glimpse of cultural diversity, language, arts, and traditions of western Nepal.

I cannot describe the beauty of Nepal in a piece of paper or a blog or even a book. The natural beauty, High Himalayas, cultural diversity, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, beautiful lakes and rivers have been attracting thousands of tourists throughout the years. However, there are few corners in Nepal that are very beautiful but still remain hidden from the sight of the world. Bodhi Tree Hostel might guide you to these corners and make your journey more fruitful.
