A Look at the Final Four in the Women's United States Championship Tournament

The semifinals of WWE's Women's United States Championship Tournament are officially set in stone

With Saturday Night's Main Event closing in, the Women's United States Championship tournament now has its semifinalists. After many months and years of fans literally begging for mid-card championships for WWE's Women's Division, we finally got them starting on November 8, with the introduction of the Women's United States Championship, and on November 25, that night's Raw introduced the Women's Intercontinental Championship, with that tournament kicking off a week later on December 2 and seeing Dakota Kai become the first to advance.

Regarding the Women's U.S. Championship, the tournament has reached Week Four, and now, the field is now down from 12 women to just four. So here they are, the Semifinalists in the Women's United States Championship tournament:

Semifinalist #1: Bayley

Bayley is WWE's first-ever Women's Grand Slam Champion

Bayley's done it all in her long time in WWE. Money in the Bank Winner, won the Women's Rumble this year, and she is WWE's first-ever Women's Grand Slam Champion. It's not surprising that she's advanced to the Semifinals, because WWE wanted an established name in the Final Four to build up the tournament. Bayley defeated Candice LeRae and B-Fab in the Quarterfinals on the November 15 edition of SmackDown to advance.

Semifinalist #2: Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green returned to WWE in 2023

Hard to believe that it was 11 years ago that we saw Chelsea Green playing a woman who claimed to have been having an affair with Daniel Bryan. Chelsea's entire wrestling career has been one amazing rollercoaster ride, but while the highs have been enjoyable and memorable, the lows have been heartbreaking. I remember being very upset over her past release from WWE, but I was so happy when she returned last year. Chelsea even became champion, capturing the tag titles with Sonya Deville, but that would become the current partnership with Piper Niven after Sonya's injury. Chelsea has continued to be one of the most over women in WWE; the most over without winning a singles title of her own. It's why she's picked to win this tournament.

Chelsea defeated Bianca Belair and Blair Davenport on the November 22 edition of SmackDown to advance--the very episode that saw Jade Cargill attacked.

Semifinalist #3: Michin

Michin is a former TNA Knockouts Champion

Michin is another one whose career I've watched, followed, and enjoyed. I've watched a number of her indie matches in SHIMMER and Shine Wrestling, and I enjoyed her time in Impact Wrestling as Jade, where she held the prestigious Knockouts Championship. When she joined WWE, she did so under her longtime familiar name, Mia Yim, and earned a roster spot after impressing everyone at the Mae Young Classic. It was during the Thunderdome era that Michin became part of the infamous faction known as RETRIBUTION, and she was later released, only to return to WWE with a huge push ahead of her.

Michin defeated Piper Niven and Lash Legend (the latter replacing Jade Cargill) on the November 29 edition of SmackDown to advance; the entire episode was actually taped a week prior.

Semifinalist #4: Tiffany Stratton

Tiffany Stratton is a former NXT Women's Champoin

On to the subject, the latest edition of SmackDown, which featured the fourth and final Quarterfinal match. I'm not surprised Tiffany Stratton won this, because her opponents were Naomi and Elektra Lopez, and "Tiffy Time" is the biggest of the three names right now. A former NXT Women's Champion, Tiffany Stratton is on a fast track as the current reigning Miss Money in the Bank. Here's the thing: she really shouldn't be. We all know the controversy: that racist video against Jade Cargill that had Tiffany's name all over it. She should have been punished. Not fired, per se, but a little bit on the buried side, and if she showed any true remorse, then and only then, you resurrect any elevation that was coming to her. Instead, WWE accepted her BS excuses, and gave her the briefcase. They fired Sasha Banks for much less.

The Semifinals are all set, and as expected, both matches will take place on the December 13 episode of SmackDown. Bayley will face off against Chelsea Green in one Semifinal, while the other Semifinal match will pit Michin against Tiffany Stratton. The Finals will take place on the next night, December 14, at Saturday Night's Main Event.
