Krav Maga is a form of self-defense created in Israel to respond to the Nazi occupation in 1944. It is a fighting style proven over time and is still used by the Israeli Defense Force today. Krav Maga is a martial art system of self-defense that originated in Israel to defend against hostile attacks.

In Hebrew, it can be translated to "contact combat" or "combat contact." Krav Maga is an international sport with competitions happening around the world. One of the primary goals of Krav Maga is to prepare for any possible scenario and teach easy, effective techniques to defend yourself in all situations.

How Krav Maga had Developed

Krav Maga is a self-defense system developed by Imi Lichtenfeld in the Czechoslovakian city of Bratislava. Krav Maga has been adopted by the military, law enforcement, and other security personnel worldwide and is now one of the most popular forms of martial arts in America. Krav Maga means "close contact combat" and refers to a simple and straightforward set of techniques and tactics that emphasize no-nonsense self-defense.

Krav Maga has evolved since its infancy. Today the system is based heavily on "hitting and running away" and emphasizes defense over offense. It is a technique-based style and is designed to defend against a wide variety of attacks. In addition to self-defense, Krav Maga is also taught to students to promote physical fitness and improve their overall conditioning. Krav Maga was created to be a combat-ready martial art and is not designed to be used to spar and compete.

Why Krav Maga is Used

Krav Maga is most often referred to as 'the street fight' because it is designed for real-life situations with no rules. The techniques are relatively simple and easy to learn, so anyone can do them without prior training or experience. It is also used to protect against all types of attacks, be fully aware of a fight, or use it as a last resort. Many people often use Krav Maga or those who do not possess a traditional martial art or weapon. Krav Maga is a practical fighting style used for self-defense and for those looking to learn about a new skill.

Principles: People always can defend themselves and should be prepared for any type of attack.

The principles of Krav Maga are not based on a set of magical beliefs or myths but on a set of scientific principles that have been tested and proven over time. Do you believe in the principle of self-defense? Krav Maga is the Jewish answer to the art of unarmed combat. In this very challenging time, the most important thing is to stay safe, be well and do what we can to help each other.
