Wrightsell makin' Threes

Coppin State 64, Delaware State 56

Jaia Alexander saved her team from an upset that would've been hard to swallow. Coppin State, now 10-9, beat a winless Delaware State squad 64-56 on the road. Alexander scored 35 points and grabbed 12 rebounds with three assists. The senior guard shot 14-27 while the rest of her team struggled going 11-45 from the field. Delaware State led 14-12 after the first quarter and Coppin State held a narrow 31-30 lead at the half. Alexander entered the game shooting just 38 percent for the season but she has been more accurate as of late. The Baltimore native has shot 54 percent over the past four games. This was Alexander's second game of at least 30 points this season. She scored 30 points in the season opener, which was a three-point win over La Salle .

Kent State 68, Central Michigan 57

Kent State stopped a two-game losing streak with a 68-57 home win over Central Michigan. Lindsey Thall shared the team lead and matched her season high of four assists while scoring 11 points for the Golden Flashes. Thall has scored double-digits in each of the last four games and is averaging a career best 12.6 points per game for the season. The native of nearby Strongsville Ohio earned attention on the national level when she led Kent with 20 points during a win over UCLA earlier this season.

La Salle 66, St. Joseph's 58

La Salle improved to 12-8 with a 66-58 win over St. Joseph's. Forward Gabby Crawford came off of the bench to score 22 points and pull down 12 rebounds leading the Explorers to the home win. The 6-2 junior shot 10 of 17 from the field, scoring over 20 points for the second straight game. She posted 21 points in a loss to Duquense, Jan. 30. Over the past two games Crawford has shot 19-28. She is currently averaging 14.7 points per game.

Seton Hall 91, Georgetown

Andra Espinoza-Hunter overcame a rough three-game shooting slump to score 25 points leading Seton Hall to a 91-62 home win over Georgetown. Espinoza-Hunter matched her season high in scoring by nailing a season best seven threes on just nine attempts. The 5-11 senior shot 9-14 overall. She also dished out four assists and grabbed three rebounds for the Pirates. Prior to tonight's win, Espinoza-Hunter struggled going just 6-30 over the past 3 games. She is averaging 15 points per game so far this season. Seton Hall improved to 9-10 after the win.

#18 Oklahoma 78, #9 Baylor 77

#18 Oklahoma travelled to #9 Baylor and won 78-77 on Feb. 2. The Sooners were led by Madi Williams who scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists. This was the senior guard's eighth game with at least 20 points this season. She scored her season high of 26 in a loss to Iowa State on Jan. 5. Williams entered the game with averages of 18.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per contest which are tops for the Sooners. Oklahoma improved to 19-3 in the win while Baylor fell to 15-5.

High Point 72, North Carolina A&T 53

North Carolina A&T entered Wednesday night's game against High Point on a 6 game win streak. Nobody told High Point as the visitors routed North Carolina A&T 72-53. Jaden Wrightsell came off of the bench to be the top player of the night. The senior forward who transferred from Tennessee State scored a season best 22 points shooting 4-6 from three. Wrightsell shot 9-12 overall as she had her second game of the season with at least 20 points. The Omaha native also had five rebounds and one blocked shot. It was only her third rejection of the season. Wrightsell is averaging 13.1 points per game which is a career best.
