Jewel Watkins - Coppin State
A 5-11 guard for Coppin State Jewel Watkins returns for her sophomore campaign after a productive rookie college season. Watkins scored a career high 18 points in one of her three starts of the season against Maryland Eastern Shore. She also snagged seven rebounds with two steals and a block. Watkins collected 10 or more rebounds on three occasions including a game where she scored 10 points as well in a win over Delaware State. Overall, she averaged 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in 28 games.
Amiah Simmons - Alabama A&M
After a year at the NCAA Division II level Amiah Simmons makes her jump to Division I basketball as a member of the Alabama A&M women's hoops squad. Simmons, a 5-9 guard had a strong freshman season at Biola University where she averaged 17.4 points, while shooting 47.7 percent from the field. Simmons scored 20 points or more 11 times last season. She also posted two double-doubles including her collegiate debut when she scored 15 points with 11 rebounds against Cal State Los Angeles.
Emy Hayford - Pitt
Emy Hayford is a 5-8 junior guard at Pitt. Last season she showed flashes of being a key contributor to the Panthers. Her season debut was a 15-point effort where she scored on seven of eight shot attempts. Hayford made a key contribution in Pitt's 78-73 overtime win over Clemson as she posted eight points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals off of the bench. Hayford also had a 10-point performance with two steals late in the season against Boston College. Hayford averaged 4.2 points while shooting a career high 31.3 percent from three in 29 games.
Lasha Petree - Purdue
Lasha Petree is on the move again. After starting her career at Bradley, where she played three seasons, the six-foot guard spent a year at Rutgers before transferring to another Big Ten school in Purdue. Over her career she has scored 1,655 points averaging 13.9 points in 119 games. Her best individual year was during the 2020-21 season where she averaged 18 points and 2.2 blocked shots per game. Last season at Rutgers she had her best season beyond the arc with a career best 37.6 shooting percentage from three. Petree's best game last season was a 20-point, seven-rebound outing in a late season win at Minnesota. She shot 7-13 from the field including 3-6 from three-point land.
Skylar Bailey - Tallahassee Community College
Tallahassee Community College's Skylar Bailey is on the comeback trail after a season ending injury while competing as a freshman at Central Arkansas. The 5-8 guard played just five games scoring one basket before her season came to a close. Prior to her collegiate career, the Kathleen, Georgia native was an All-Region performer and state champion at Houston County High, where she averaged 10 points, five assists, five rebounds and four steals per contest.
Mikala Morris - Quinnipiac
Mikala Morris is a 6-2 forward at Quinnipiac. Over the past two seasons she has been one of the best rebounders in the nation yanking down 539 rebounds over her last 54 games during that period. In 2020-21 she averaged career highs of 13.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocked shots per game. Last season she had another positive year for the Bobcats averaging 11.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. She scored a season high 24 points while hauling down 10 rebounds on 12-of-16 shooting in a win over Canisius.
Isis Beh - West Virginia
West Virginia forward Isis Beh looks to make her return to action after two seasons of inactivity on the court. The 6-3 redshirt sophomore from Murray, Utah competed as a freshman during the 2019-20 season at UNLV where she was named to the Mountain West Conference All-Freshman Team. She posted averages of 3.6 points and four rebounds per game while shooting 52.9 percent from the field. The next season she transferred to Salt Lake City Community College where she didn't compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last season she redshirted after arriving at West Virginia. She scored her collegiate career high of 11 points during her freshman season while shooting 5-7 in a win over New Mexico.
