Nya Morris - Claflin
Nya Morris is a 5-5 sophomore guard who is entering her first NCAA Division I season at Claflin. Prior to attending Claflin she played on the junior college level at Lackawanna where she averaged 17.9 points over two seasons. Her best season was in 2021-22, when she averaged a career best 20.5 points per game. Morris scored a season high 37 points against Community College of Baltimore County. In that game she scored on half of her 22 shots from the field. She also shot an impressive 12-13 from the free-throw line. Despite her size, Morris proved to be a valuable player on the boards. She averaged 6.6 rebounds per game and yanked down at least 10 boards or more on three occasions. Morris collected 50 steals last season, snatching seven thefts against Raritan Valley Community College.
Hannah Sadler - Georgia State
As Hannah Sadler has become a bit of a star on social media, one may have forgotten that she still has eligibility as a hooper at Georgia State. The Ursula Wiedmann model enters her fourth season of action in a career that started during the 2018-19 season at Old Dominion. Her first season at Georgia State has been her best thus far posting career best averages of 8.2 points and 1.3 blocked shots per game. Last season her minutes decreased but she had some strong nights, including a 14-point, four-rebound effort in 15 minutes against University of Texas-Arlington. The 6-3 forward also scored 12 points with four rebounds in 19 minutes against South Alabama. Sadler also showcased her shot blocking talents when she swatted a season high three rejections against Texas State.
Jamya Mingo-Young - Alabama
After two seasons at Mississippi State Jamya Mingo-Young found a home and starting position at Alabama. The 5-8 guard had a career year in her first year at Alabama. She averaged 11.6 points while shooting 47.1 percent from the field. Mingo-Young had her best offensive night last season when she posted 26 points to go along with 11 rebounds against Chatanooga. That was her first of four games with 20 points or more last season. Her final time was against Tulane as she led Alabama to victory in the second round of the National Invitational Tournament. Mingo-Young scored 21 points making seven of her nine shot attempts. Alabama's top defender, Mingo-Young led the Crimson Tide with an average of 2.4 steals per game. She gave opponents hell, collecting a season's best six steals on three occasions.
Sara Bejedi - Florida State
A 5-7 guard from Helsinki, Finland, Sara Bejedi is back for another season at Florida State. In her third collegiate season, she averaged a career best 6.4 points per game as a reserve for the Seminoles. Bejedi's brightest individual moment of the season came in the ACC Tournament when she scored 21 points against the No. 3 ranked North Carolina State. She was a perfect 3-3 from three-point land during that contest. That was the second time of the year that she made as many shots from beyond the arc. Bejedi also shot 3-3 from three earlier in the season in an upset win over No. 20 Notre Dame. She scored 12 points in 12 minutes in the victory. Bejedi played a key-role in a late-season overtime win against No. 22 Georgia Tech, posting 10 points, three assists and two steals off of the bench. She shot 2-4 from three-point land in the Florida State win.
