Emmanuel, Lobe, Obst among winners

Crystal Emmanuel, 29, ran a time of 11.20 in a win during the 100 meters final of the Johnny Loaring Classic on June 12. The 2016 Olympian and 12-time Canadian national champ ran her fastest time of the season, which was wind assisted at 2.9. It was her first outdoor meet in Canada this season after three combined appearances in the United States during the months of April and May.
Shyvonne Roxborough was the closest competitor to Emmanuel finishing at 11.46, just in front of Jacuqeline Madogo's time of 11.48. Roxborough, who is seven years younger than Emmanuel is a two-time Canadian national champ with two gold medal wins in the 400-meter relay in 2017 and 2019.
During the last decade Emmanuel was the most dominant sprinter in Canada. She won the 100 meters from 2011-2014, before winning again from 2016-2019. Emmanuel won the 200 meters from 2011-2012 and started another streak of winning from 2016-2019. In the 2016 Olympics she was a part of the sixth place 400-meter relay Canadian team.

Other Notes from the Johnny Loaring Classic
Caroline Ehrhardt won the triple jump at 13.21. Emily Omahen and Jorden Savoury were first and second in the women's long jump. Omahen hit a leading mark of 6.08 which was the only jump in the entire competition over six meters. Savoury landed at a personal best of 5.67 on her fourth jump. Sarah Mitton won the shot put with her two throws of 18 meters. Mitton had an undefeated indoor season winning all four of the meets that she competed. The win at the Johnny Loaring Classic was her third in eight meets for the outdoor season.
Lobe wins 100-meter hurdles at German Championships
On June 5, Ricarda Lobe, 27, captured a 100-meter hurdles win at the German Championships in Braunschweig, Germany. Lobe's time of 13.18 was better than runner-up Anne Weigold (13.24) and third place finisher Monika Zapalska (13.34). This was Lobe's second straight national championship as she won her first title last August. She also won the national title in this year's 60-meter hurdles final during the indoor season. Lobe has won eight overall national titles as she is a five time 400-meter relay champ (2015-2018) and a winner of the 800-meter relay during the 2019 indoor season.

Other notes from German Championships
Alexandra Burghardt earned her first open national titles on June 5 and 6. The 27-year-old won the German 100 meters final on June 5 at a time of 11.14. She won the 200 meters on June 6 at 23.15. Imke Onnen won the high jump at 1.87, placing ahead of Lea Halmans runner-up finish of 1.84 and Alexandra Plaza's third place mark of 1.80.
Georgia's Marie-Therese Obst wins NCAA javelin championship
In 2018, Marie-Therese Obst competed in the NCAA championship round of the javelin throw for the first time. She finished 15th. Three years later she made it back and became champion. Her throw of 59.69 was the best throw of the competition on June 10 in Eugene, Oregon in the United States. Obst is a native of Norway where she won her first Norwegian national championship of the javelin throw in 2015. Arizona State's Alizee Minard placed second at 57.91 and Bucknell's Maura Fiamoncini was third at 56.48. Each of the top three competitors were seniors.
