Top Scoring Players on Fantasy Football (Week 15)
Analyzing the highest scoring players, by position, during Week 15 of the 2024 season

To play off the words of the iconic Ringo Starr, "Please forgive the lateness of this story."
With Christmas shopping, other stories, and even focusing on the Semifinals in Fantasy Football, I've been lagging when it comes to mentioning the top fantasy scorers for Week 15, which is a big week for Fantasy--it's either the end of the regular season, or the Quarterfinals depending on the league. In any event, here are Week 15's top scorers:
QB: Josh Allen

Here's how fantasy scoring works for quarterbacks: 1 point per every 25 passing yards (or 0.04 points per passing yard), and passing touchdowns are 4 points each. Interceptions are usually a 1 point deduction, and lost fumbles are a 2 point deduction. Josh Allen was the leader for QBs for the second straight week. His numbers: 362 yards (14.48 points) and two touchdowns (8 points), and ran for 68 yards (6.8 points) and two touchdowns (12 points), for a grand total of 41.28 points. WOWZA!
RB: James Conner

Scoring for running backs goes like this: 1 point per every 10 yards, touchdowns are 6 points each, and receiving rules come into play. James Conner led for RBs in Week 15: running for 110 (11 points) and two touchdowns (12 points), and had five receptions (5 points) for 28 yards (2.8 points), totalling 30.8 points to lead his position for Week 15.
WR: Davante Adams

Davante Adams (and Aaron Rodgers) really turned back the clock big time. Scoring for wide receivers: PPR (Points Per Reception) applies, 1 point per every 10 yards, and touchdowns are 6 points each. Adams had nine receptions (9 points) for 198 yards (19.8 points) and two touchdowns (12 points), while also scoring a two-pointer (2 points). A grand total of 42.8 points, and he got most of that in the second half!
TE: Jonnu Smith

Scoring for tight ends is the same as wide receivers, and in that position, it was Jonnu Smith leading the way even in defeat. Smith's numbers: nine receptions (9 points), 48 yards (4.8 points), and a touchdown (6 points), totalling 19.8 points. This is why PPR really helps, because they make numbers like that look really good.
K: Chase McLaughlin

Here's how scoring for kickers goes: extra points are 1 point, of course. Regarding field goals, those under 40 yards are worth 3 points, 40-49 yard FGs are worth 4 points, and those 50 yards or longer are worth 5 points. After a three-way tie in Week 14, Week 15 saw Chase McLaughlin as the sole leader. McLaughlin made four PATs (4 points), two FGs under 40 (6 points), and two from the 40s (8 points) for a total of 18 fantasy points.
DEF: Kansas City Chiefs

Here's how scoring for team defenses goes. Regarding scoring defenses, a shutout is 10 points, giving up 1-6 points is 7 points, giving up 7-13 points is 4 points, giving up 14-20 points is 1 point, giving up 21-27 points is no points, giving up 28-34 point is a 1 point deduction, and giving up at least 35 points is a 4 point deduction. Elsewhere, sacks are 1 point, interceptions are 2 points, safeties are 2 points, fumble recoveries are 2 points, blocked kicks are 2 points, and touchdowns are 6 points. The Chiefs defense really benefitted from playing against Cleveland. Their defensive stats: five sacks (5 points), four interceptions (8 points), two fumble recoveries (4 points), and gave up 7 points (4 points). A total of 21 fantasy points, finishing one point ahead of the Falcons and Broncos.
It's playoff time in Fantasy Football, folks, and I wish those of you who are in the big dance the best of luck in your championship aspirations!
