Tipping My Hat, or Rather, Hats to You

Showcasing some of my favorite Texas Rangers caps

By Mark Wesley Pritchard Published 2 days ago 4 min read

Baseball hats---let's talk about them. You probably have at least one in your home and wear it. I have seven Texas Rangers hats in total, and the last one is the most recent one from August 2025. Technically, I have eight, but I'll explain that one near the end of this story. New Era has been the official baseball cap supplier since 1993. The company was founded in 1920 by Ehrhardt Koch. 59Fifty Day is celebrated annually on May 9 to honor the iconic fitted baseball cap. Many people collect baseball caps as a hobby and as a devoted hathead myself, this has been a new hobby of mine after retiring from cosplay in 2024. I do plan on buying more and have no plans on stopping anytime soon. I'll be highlighting some of my favorite Rangers caps and they're not in any particular order.

World Series Hat

Nearly six months after the Rangers won their first World Series title, this hat was one I had to put on my head. Arriving in April 2024, the Texas Rangers gold "T" stands out and on the right side, it reads World Series Champions 2023, and the New Era logo is gold, too. Gold was definitely the word that year. When your team wins a World Series title, expect gold-themed apparel, such as hats, jerseys, and more. This hat goes well with my Corey Seager gold-themed World Series Champions jersey.

Rangers Batting Practice Hat

Days before the 2024 MLB regular season began, this amazing hat arrived to me. I wore this on Opening Day, and my Max Scherzer World Series Champions jersey suited me well. I loved the throwback Rangers logo and as someone who's a nostalgia junkie, this paired with said jersey perfectly.

Baseball Hall of Fame Hat

This hat is my latest one as of August 2025. A navy blue hat with the Rangers logo and on the right, a National Baseball Hall of Fame patch is displayed. As you can see in this photo, I'm posing, wearing my hat, a Nolan Ryan shirt, and in front of pictures of the legendary pitcher. My goal is to buy a throwback 90s Pudge Rodríguez Texas Rangers jersey. One in either white or grey with Rangers in red letters. Him and Nolan are both inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, so that's the main reason why I bought this hat.

City Connect Hat

Major League Baseball rolled out their City Connect line in 2021, releasing hats, jerseys, and more of teams honoring their respective cities cultures. Depending on which MLB team you root for, you may like or dislike the designs, aesthetics, colors, or all three of any of the apparel or other items. In the case of my team. Before my Baseball Hall of Fame hat arrived to me, this awesome, black Rangers City Connect hat went well with the black City Connect shirt I bought. I currently don't own a City Connect jersey but have plans on buying on in the near future. The team's City Connect jersey was released in 2023, the same year they won their first World Series title. As for the details on this hat, the 4-21 on the right side of the hat commemorates Texas' independence (April 21, 1836) and also represents the date of the Rangers first home game (April 21, 1972). The Rangers were previously known as the Washington Senators from 1961-1971, before moving to Arlington the following spring from Washington, DC. The logo on the hat represents the Dallas Eagles with the spur form the DFW Spurs. The concept behind the Rangers City Connect jersey comes from celebrating the City of Arlington's role of brining baseball to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The Rangers discontinued their City Connect jerseys after the 2025 MLB season concluded, but not to fear. The team is planning on introducing a new design for next season. The late Tom Vandergriff, who was the mayor of Arlington, is celebrated today and responsible for bringing baseball to the city.

All-Star Game 2024 Hat

For the final entry on this list, I introduce everyone to the 2024 Texas Rangers All-Star Game Hat. Months after winning their first World Series title, the Rangers hosted the 2024 All-Star Game for the first time since 1995. I no longer watch the Mid-Summer Classic, but that year, I made an exception. It was the first time in over 15 years that I've watched an All-Star Game. Before the game started, it was nice seeing Rangers legends like Nolan Ryan and Pudge Rodríguez on my TV. I sat and watched the entire game, which was amazing. Regarding this hat, the designs are fantastic and an All-Star Game 2024 patch on the right side of the cap.

The Eighth Rangers Cap

One last thing to share with everyone. The hat that you see above was my very first Rangers hat I bought back in 2016. For a decade, it got me through the good and bad times. I wore this hat on the evening of Game 5 of the 2023 World Series. I hadn't worn it in years, but it became my good luck charm, and it worked. After they won it all, I took this picture and posted it on social media. The reason why I didn't go into detail about this hat at the beginning of the story was to share this small story about it in the end. 10 years later, I still have it but rarely wear it. Maybe next time the Rangers are in the World Series, I'll don it.

Which hat of mine do you like the best and if you collect baseball hats, how may do you have? Sound off in the comments below. If you enjoyed this story, please give it a like.
