As we march through 2022, the track and field season will be here before we know it. When December comes, Winners Only is usually at either Grand Valley State or Indiana covering some of the first indoor track meets of the season. Why wait until December. We're so ready for the track and field season that we're starting our previews in the early days of autumn. Take a break from your college football, NFL, Major League Baseball playoff pushes and even your college volleyball action. Let's take a peek at some of our favorite programs and athletes that we're most looking forward to seeing in 2023.

Miami Hurricianes

Moriah Oliveira

A sprinter from Fort Myers, Florida, Moriah Oliveira was a second-team All-American in the 400 meters last season. After winning the ACC championship in the 400 meters with a time of 51.85, Oliveira qualified for the NCAA meet after a top 10 showing at the East Preliminary Round. At the NCAA Championships, she ran a career best time of 51.76 in the preliminary round. Oliveira started her season with a championship at the ACC indoor meet in the 400 meters with a winning time of 52.88. Oliveira has also been a valuable member to the Miami 1,600-meter relay squad and also is a threat in the ACC to win the 200 meters as well.

Skyla Wilson

After a brilliant career at Penn, Skyla Wilson joins the Miami program as a grad student. From Susquenhanna, Pennsylvania, Wilson was the Ivy League champ in the 200 meters and 1,600-meter relay. She also earned a bronze medal as a member of the 400-meter relay. During the indoor season she earned two silver medals in the 60-meter hurdles, 500 meters and a bronze in the 200 meters at the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships. In 2020 Wilson earned two Ivy League indoor titles in the 500 meters and 1,600-meter relay. In 2019 she earned All-America Honorable Mention honors during outdoor season when she and her teammates competed in the preliminary round of the 1,600-meter relay of the NCAA Championships.

Rachel Robertson

Another new arrival at the U will be All-American jumper Rachel Robertson. A native of Miami, Florida, Robertson will return to her hometown after a great finish at Florida A&M. Robertson made a name for herself after qualifying for the NCAA championships in the triple jump. Last season Roberton won the triple jump at 12.81 and the high jump at 1.75 at the SWAC outdoor championship meet. During the indoor season she took the championship in the high jump and a silver medal in the triple jump. Robertson's top triple jump mark of the season came at the Georgia Tech Invitational where she finished second at 13.21.

Gabriella Grissom

Gabriella Grissom will make her debut at the University of Miami. The Atlanta, Georgia native won the New Balance Indoor National high school championship in the 400 meters with a time of 54.06. She was also an outdoor state champion in the 400 meters in 2021 while running with Sandy Creek High.

Sanaa Hebron

Sanaa Hebron will also debut at University of Miami. During her high school career Hebron won this year's Adidas indoor national championship in the 400 meters with a time of 54.37. She was also a Pennsylvania state champ in the 400 meters during the 2022 indoor season and the 2021 outdoor season.
