Cricket may have got its roots in INDIA due to its British colonial background. But it was never got popularized among the masses until 1983, the year when India won it's first Cricket World Cup .

The reason why cricket got so famous among all parts of the country is that it is so easy to play. It does not require anything more than a bat and a ball.

But the 5-day test cricket math eventually started losing its charm in modern times. In the early 2000s, many people started to think that the matches were too long and the turnouts were low in many stadiums. And that’s where IPL had its huge advantage and create a base for its huge viewership.

It’s just a 3-hour long game, during the night time 7.30 -11.00, everyone can watch it after their work during leisure time.

It basically became like watching a movie while chilling on the sofa for most of the Indian Families. It has drama, emotion, and suspense in the form of the nail-biting death overs.
