Welcome to our series, "Who We Checkin'?" This is where we feature women's college basketball players that we think may be on to bigger things during the 2020-21 season.

For various reasons, women's basketball has the opportunity to really explode over the next few seasons and we're going to do our best to let you know about the amazing women that you may not know but should as we share their basketball journey and growth as student athletes.

Kendall Spray - Clemson - Senior - Guard

In her team's first two games of the season Kendall Spray has been sharp from three-point territory. The 5-5 senior guard scored 18 points in a win over Presbyterian. She canned six-of-11 three-pointers in 21 minutes of action. Spray started the season knocking down three-of-four three-pointers in the opener against Furman. Currently at 60 percent for the season, Spray is a 39 percent career three-point shooter. She also has a career average of 13.7 points per game.

She will look to continue her hot shooting today as Clemson takes on UNC-Charlotte on the road, this afternoon.

Vivian Gray - Texas Tech - Senior - Guard

After the opening weekend Vivian Gray found herself with 48 points in team's two victories. In the opener against UT Rio Grande Valley, Gray made nine-of-17 shots and all five of her free-throws. In the second game against Houston Baptist she struggled going 5-15 but she shot 13-13 from the charity stripe. Along with lighting up the scoreboard, Gray also collected 17 rebounds and 7 assists over the two games.

After scoring 24 points in both games, Gray will attempt to go for 25 or more at Vanderbilt, Dec. 2.

Jalynn Holmes - Norfolk State - Senior - Guard

A transfer guard from Towson, Jaylnn Holmes is off to the best start of her career. After a loss to UNC-Wilmington where she scored 13 points, Holmes led Norfolk State to its first victory of the season as she scored 23 points in a 96-66 win over Salem.

Holmes is averaging 18 points, seven rebounds and three steals per game. During her first two seasons at Towson she averaged 3.2 and 4.2 points per game respectively.

Ajulu Thatha - SIU-Edwardsville - Sophomore - Forward

After a freshman season in a reserve role where she averaged 2.9 points per game and 3.1 rebounds, Ajulu Thatha started this season with a 14-point, 11-rebound outburst.

Her performance led SIU-Edwardsville to its first win of the season against Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne. Last season her top scoring effort was 13 points in a win over Evansville. Against IPFW, Thatha made six-of-10 shots and collected two blocks with one steal. She plays her next game, Dec. 2, at Arkansas State.

Carrie Gross - Xavier - Junior - Guard

An important player to Xavier's on-court success, Carrie Gross kicked off the season with 11 points in 15 minutes of action against Detroit Mercy. Gross shot 5-9 in the 81-73 win. She also had four rebounds and three assists as well.
