Indian opening batsmen Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were set off to a great start by scoring 143 runs opening partnership.
Indian Skipper cum opening batsman Rohit Sharma scored a competent 83 runs from 67 balls ( 9 fours and 3 sixes) along with Shubman Gill’s 70 runs from 60 balls (including 11 fours).
But, it was Virat Kohli’s explosive innings of 113 runs from 87 balls (12 fours and 1 six) that helped India reach a total of 373-7 in 50 overs.
Virat Kohli scored his 73rd International Century(ODI-43, Test-27, and T20Is-1) during the crucial moment of the match, thereby making Sri Lanka pressurized chase a tough score in 50 overs.

Chasing a huge target of 374 runs against India in 50 Overs, Sri Lanka lost their opening batsman Avishka Fernando (5 runs from 12 balls) at 19-1 in 3.5 overs.
Batsmen such as Pathum Nissanka, Dhananjaya De Silva and Dasun Shanaka were the top performing Sri Lankan batsmen.
Sri Lankan opening batsman Pathum Nissanka scored 72 runs from 80 balls ( including 11 fours) whereas Dhananjaya De Silva scored 47 runs from 40 balls( including 9 fours).
Sri Lankan Skipper Dasun Shanaka was the top-performing batsman scoring 108 runs from 88 balls ( including 12 fours and 3 sixes).
Though the Sri Lankan skipper scored a century and continued batting till the completion of 50 overs, the regular fall of wickets restricted Sri Lanka from chasing a huge target.
Compared to the Indian Team Batting, Sri Lanka was not able to maintain a consistent partnership which led to a regular fall of wickets.

Though Sri Lankan Batsman tried to bounce back by trying to chase a high target, the Indian bowlers such as Umran Malik (57-3 in 8 overs), Mohammed Siraj (30-2 in 7 overs including 1 maiden over), Yuzvendra Chahal (58-1 in 10 overs), Hardik Pandya (33-1 in 6 overs) and Mohammed Shami (67-1 in 9 overs) supported India grab in-form Sri Lankan batsmen wickets at an early time, thereby restricting Sri Lanka to 306-8 in 50 overs.
Though the 9th wicket added a 100-run partnership, Sri Lanka was not able to make it successful chasing 374 runs in 50 overs.

Pakistan’s first female MMA fighter did not begin her journey to shatter records or challenge tradition. She began it simply because she loved to fight—and believed she had the right to. A Dream Born in Defiance Growing up in Pakistan, combat sports were never presented as a viable path for girls. Boxing gyms, wrestling mats, and fight promotions were overwhelmingly male spaces. For a young girl interested in MMA, the obstacles came early and often—raised eyebrows, discouraging comments, and the constant reminder that “this isn’t for you.” Yet the fighter recalls that her earliest motivation had nothing to do with proving society wrong.
