Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is arrested on battery, kidnapping charges after two-week manhunt

The arrest is related to a domestic violence suit brought against Davis by his ex-girlfriend in October of 2025.

When beating up people in the ring just isn’t enough ... .Gervonta “Tank” Davis has been arrested and charged with battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping. After weeks on the lam, police finally captured Tank and he is now waiting to post a $16,000 bond.

What went left for Tank was his then-girlfriend Courtney Rossel’s claims that he manhandled her at her workplace. She claims he dragged her out into a parking garage at her place of work, a nightclub called Tootsies. The video obtained by Miami Gardens Police Department corroborates with her story.

Now, this is allegedly absolutely insane. For a boxer to take such aggression out on another person outside of the ring is reprehensible. Tank has lowered himself to the level of a brute and can no longer claim the status of a gentleman.

His crimes stem from alleged abuse he may have witnessed. Maybe he just felt like beating someone that day. Whatever the case, the World Boxing Association has stripped him of his lightweight title. All he has now to show for himself are bad memories and Advil, allegedly.

To take down a female and you’re a stacked boxer is criminal in itself. The aggression and rage shouldn’t even be in the brutal sport conducted in the square ring. But it at least has rules and boundaries, domestic violence does not. If Tank wants to redeem himself and become a better man, he should go to anger management courses. He ought to find another athletic pursuit like golf or pickleball.

If it is not too much trouble, Rossel should in fact hold Tank’s gloves to the fire and make him eat all of the actions that he leveled against her. She should be able to say “love is blind” and charge him to the fullest extent of the law. Rossel ought to pursue as much justice as possible. As a victim of getting her ears stomped together, she should be ready to speak out about the dangers of apparently mentally unstable people like Tank.

To consider this incident isolated would go against reason. Allegedly, Tank has engaged in this kind of behavior before. So, Rossel walked into a mine field that blew up in her face. His temper had to have flared before this action, supposedly. Rarely does anyone just explode in a fit of rage like this the first time. This had probably been the climax of the prelude of abuses meted out by Tank.

For him to realize the pain and anguish he has caused, he will have plenty of time. He’ll post bond most likely but might be confined to house arrest. If he does comply with the stipulations surrounding his case, he might get a fair trial and a light sentence. He may, however, be given a raw deal and sent to prison based on his wicked actions.

Tank has been a formidable boxer. He knows the point system and avoids getting hit. When it comes to the case of Rossel blaming him for being dragged literally into a parking garage, it seems like his light has forever diminished. He could bounce back from this, but it seems unlikely. He’s spent too much time training and conditioning for fights without checking his mental health and overall well-being.

He’s placed himself in the worst possible position as a romantic partner. As an individual that should be strong in body and mind, Tank should have met Rossel and treated her like a human being, not some wild animal. His skillset is to do as much harm as possible within the confines of the ref’s orders. Maybe he’ll take those rules to mind when he stands before a judge.
