Five Things The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Need To Do This Off-Season
The Buccaneers have some work to do this off-season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers thought they would go deep into the playoffs, but it didn't work out for them. Mistakes in the end were the doom for the Buccaneers. This doesn't mean that's the end of the story for them. With these simple five moves, the Buccaneers can be right back in the playoff picture once again.
Todd Bowles is a very polarizing figure for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many fans would love to see him get fired during the off-season. Some of his in-game decisions can make you shake your head and yell at the television screen. No matter if you like him or hate him the one thing he does is get his players to play. Some coaches struggle to get players to play, but Bowles players seem to enjoy him being around. Keeping him for at least another year is a good idea.
Chris Godwin is another tough decision the Tampa Bay front office will have to make this off-season. Godwin has had injuries the past few seasons, but when on the field he is very productive. Is it time to say goodbye to Godwin? This is a tough decision as it's hard to find good long-term receivers in the draft. I would try and sign him to a one-year deal with a club option next year. When healthy he happens to be one of the best in the NFL.
Signing Lavonte David is another thing that must be done. David anchors the middle of the defense and still plays at a high level. David hasn't decided if he wants to return for another season. If he does he is a very important part of the defense. Trying to replace a player like Lavonte David is very tough. Let's hope he decides to come back for another year of football.
On the defensive side of the ball defensive backs need to be a priority in the off-season. The Buccaneers have had trouble keeping a group together and healthy for a full season. Finding good defensive backs in the NFL is tough. I do not know how many games the Buccaneer's defensive backs cost them, but it had to be a few games. It seems the cornerbacks got defensive penalties when we least needed it. Maybe a new defensive backs coach is also a thought as well.
For the most part, the kicking game has been good for the Buccaneers, but the punting is something that needs to be explored. At times it was an area the Buccaneers struggled. Finding a reliable punter should be addressed in the off-season. Another area we need to look at is our special teams as well. We never seem to get a good punt return or kickoff return any more. This could help the team in the 2025 season if we did.
If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can make some minor tweaks and adjustments they should be very good in 2025-2026 season. They have a tough schedule, but if they do these five things they will have a much better chance. Only time will tell what changes will be made and everyone will be watching.
