Expect Manchester United’s highway, not the hard way dealing with Mason Greenwood
Why Mason Greenwood is probably done with Manchester United

Remember how being innocent before being legally found guilty was a “debate over” thing? Ah, those were the days.
Nowadays, it’s more like you can get a nail out of the board, but a hole remains no matter what materials you put in to fix it.
Charges against Mason Greenwood were dropped. To refresh our memories, he was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and section 47 assault of a woman.
By charges being dropped, he is found innocent until proven otherwise. However, that doesn’t really help his career at the moment. At least not in the amount it should.
In the past, you can be certain that he would be immediately included in the team with no real drama. As said, times change fast.
Since Manchester United is doing well at the moment, decision-makers don’t want to take any disruptive decisions.
They are convinced that team spirit is higher than ever in recent years, so adding a heavily marked individual in the dressing room would greatly impact the team.
Maybe even in the most undesirable way. Therefore, expect Manchester United not to include Greenwood in the squad for the rest of the season.
Why? Because it’s the easiest decision. Besides not endangering team spirit and explaining to a whole lot of players, staff, media and other related figures, why an England star is included in a team, fans’ negative statements can also be avoided.
Moreover, with that decision, a club avoids being labelled with any unwanted practices for now and for the future. Their image is with that decision not exposed to any risk. And potentially losing any sponsors as well.
Manchester United would also avoid dragging unnecessary attention to themselves during the season. Whatever that attention may be and can result in.
Be sure that if Mason Greenwood is ever reinstalled into the team it’s immediately in the pre-season when most of the people are on holiday caring for everything but football details.
In addition, a club has a whole pre-season period to soften the situation and put it under the radar as much as possible.
By not including Greenwood in the team this season or any for the rest of his career, decision-makers also make a point of taking more than enough time to seriously think the situation over with a final decision.
Furthermore, they may even leave the final call to the pitch. No matter, how strange and disbelieving that sounds a squad was built before the season knowing that Greenwood would not be around.
At the end of the season, some players may go, some may be sold, some may get released … and before you know it an England striker may come in handy.
Keep in mind that stating he is needed by a club because of footballing reasons can hardly be argued.
All in all, I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think that pressure on the club from the brutal media, sponsors and worldwide fans is too high and Manchester United will take the highway in dealing with him.
He is probably done with Red Devils and will have to resurrect his career somewhere far from England or maybe even Europe.
Nevertheless, since a man is ought to be innocent until proven otherwise I hope I am wrong and this exceptional talent will be given another chance.
After all, in most cases, it’s the hardest way that can bring the most in the long-term, not the easiest that can only serve short-term purposes.
