Who will win?

SAY IN COMMENTS WHO DO YOU THINK THAT WILL WIN

In these NBA Finals, where the Thunder were clearly the favorites, things are no longer so certain, especially since Indiana hasn’t been the favorite at any point during the playoffs. On Thursday, Indiana showed that being ahead for just 0.3 seconds is enough to win a game. In these Finals, it’s the MVP (Shai) going up against, in my opinion, the clutch player of the year (Haliburton).

INDIANA PACERS

The Indiana Pacers have emerged as one of the most compelling stories of the 2024–25 NBA season. After a challenging start, the team rallied to secure 50 wins and clinch the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference. Under the leadership of head coach Rick Carlisle, the Pacers have advanced to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000.

Central to their success is All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton, whose clutch performances have been pivotal throughout the playoffs. In Game 1 of the Finals, Haliburton hit a game-winning shot with just 0.3 seconds remaining, marking his fourth game-winner of the postseason. His ability to deliver in critical moments has drawn comparisons to some of the game's greats.

The supporting cast has also been instrumental. Pascal Siakam, re-signed to a four-year deal, provides veteran leadership and scoring. Obi Toppin has contributed significantly off the bench, including a playoff career-high 21 points in the first round. Bennedict Mathurin has added depth and scoring punch, notably recording 23 points and 9 rebounds in a crucial Eastern Conference Finals game.

Defensively, the Pacers have shown marked improvement, transforming from one of the league's weaker defenses early in the season to a top-10 unit post-December. This defensive resurgence, combined with their high-powered offense, has propelled them through the playoffs.

As they continue their Finals series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Pacers' blend of youthful energy and veteran savvy positions them as formidable contenders for the championship.

Oklahoma City Thunders

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been a dominant force throughout the 2024–25 NBA season, finishing with a league-best 68–14 record and securing the top seed in the Western Conference. Led by MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who averaged 32.7 points per game, the Thunder showcased a potent offense and a resilient defense.

In the playoffs, the Thunder continued their impressive run, culminating in their first NBA Finals appearance since 2012. Gilgeous-Alexander's leadership and scoring prowess have been pivotal, including a 38-point performance in Game 1 of the Finals. Despite a narrow 111–110 loss to the Indiana Pacers in that game, the Thunder remain confident, drawing on their depth and experience.

Supporting Gilgeous-Alexander are key contributors like Jalen Williams, who earned his first All-Star selection and All-NBA Third Team honors this season, and rookie Chet Holmgren, providing a strong interior presence. With a balanced roster and a determined mindset, the Thunder aim to bounce back in the series and capture their first NBA championship

CONCLUSION

The 2025 NBA Finals have become a thrilling showdown between two unexpected yet deserving contenders: the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers. On one side, the Thunder entered the playoffs as the top seed in the West, led by MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and a talented young core including Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren. Their high-paced offense and disciplined defense have made them a dominant force all season. On the other side, the Pacers have been the surprise of the playoffs, overcoming all odds to reach their first Finals since 2000. Tyrese Haliburton has emerged as the clutch player of the postseason, consistently delivering in critical moments.

Game 1 already set the tone for what promises to be a fiercely contested series, with Indiana stealing the win in dramatic fashion. The contrast in styles—Oklahoma’s structured, explosive attack versus Indiana’s opportunistic, resilient play—adds another layer of intrigue. As the series unfolds, key matchups, coaching adjustments, and late-game execution will determine who takes home the trophy.

With both teams showcasing youth, talent, and heart, the 2025 Finals are not just about crowning a champion—they're a preview of the NBA’s future. Fans can expect high drama, big plays, and a legacy-defining series.

The Pacers have been a pleasant surprise. Haliburton's clutch shots are amazing. Their defense improving is key. Gonna be a close series against the Thunder. It's great to see the supporting cast stepping up too. Siakam, Toppin, and Mathurin are making a difference. Should be an exciting Finals.
