Why I Read This Book Every Year
What The Traditional Education System Don't Want You To Know

Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That The Poor And Middle Class Do Not! By Robert Kiyosaki
Perhaps one of the most criticised and controversial personal finance books, it has become the number one personal finance book of all time. It provides a perspective on how we think about money through a different lens that challenges the traditional education system.
The Book in 3 Sentences:
Rich Dad Poor Dad tells the story of a boy with two fathers, one rich, one poor, to help you develop the mindset and financial knowledge you need to build a life of wealth and freedom .
You don't need a high paying income to be rich.
The rich don't work for money.
Favourite quote from the author:
"The main reason people struggle financially is because they have spent years in school but learned nothing about money. The result is that people learn to work for money...but never learn to have money work for them."
Why I Read This Book
I read Rich Dad Poor Dad when I was 18. I am now approaching 30 and I still read this book annually. It had such an impact on me that every year I take away a new valuable lesson.
I was starting my first year at university before I stumbled upon this book. I desperately wanted to believe what I felt deep down inside of my heart -there had to be more to life than this. The go to university, get a good paying job and then retire journey that I was about to embark on didn’t inspire passion in me like the idea of financial freedom and adventure did. There had to be another way. There had to be more than this. I wanted a life I could make my own . And then I found Rich Dad Poor Dad.
Thought Provoking Lesson
The rich and the poor speak two different languages. The poor say I can’t afford it. The rich say how can I afford it. Saying I can't afford it cuts off any possibility to look further and find solutions. Saying how can I afford it causes the brain to think differently and look for solutions. I began to see how the power of language can affect your reality.
Poor is a state of mind. Not your circumstances.
There is a difference between being poor and being broke. Broke is temporary. Poor is eternal.”
I learned wealth and financial freedom is possible for me even starting with nothing. Reading this book gave me hope that I can be wealthy and that I do not need a high paying job to be rich.
Becoming Rich Doesn't Have To Be Difficult
At one time or another we have all dreamed of being free from our day job to live a life on our own terms. However, most of the time this can feel like a pipe dream and we don't always know where to start - let alone believe it is possible.
The good news is, the problem isn't you.
Unfortunately financial education is not taught in schools, it is taught in the home and most of us inherit financial knowledge from our parents, and by no fault of their own, it is not always the best.
1 Simple Reason Why you should read this book today
1. You deserve to be wealthy!
“If you’ve failed, that means you’re doing something. If you’re doing something you have a chance.” Robert Kiyosaki.
Where to find the book: Millions of copies have been sold worldwide. You would be able to find yourself a copy at almost any book store or online.
