Many businesses and product manufacturers want people to talk about them because there is no such thing as bad publicity. Businesses enjoy it when regular people review them because such reviews draw attention and provide them with valuable feedback. For this reason, business owners are ready to pay freelancers and for these businesses, positive reviews can be the best affordable way to promote their businesses while freelancers earn a decent living from their expertise. The following 5 ways are the best to get product review jobs online;

Job Boards

We all know that traditional job boards like Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer have been jam-packed with freelancers looking for work, but they still offer a decent amount of product reviews. You don’t have to rely on these content mills for product review jobs but you can use them to supplement your job search.

Alternatively, you can get product review sites from traditional job sites and local classified ads platforms like Indeed, Glassdoor, Flexjobs, and LinkedIn.

Dedicated Product Review Websites- My Favorite

Some websites are specifically dedicated to providing product reviews in different niches. While they don’t pay as much as those found on job boards, they do offer steady product review works and your income can add up quickly when you sign up on many of these platforms.

For consumer products and software, you can sign up on ReviewStream, Capterra, SoftwareJudge, and G2 for product review jobs.

ReviewStream pays you for reviewing all kinds of products, including baby items and consumer electronics. You are expected to provide an honest review on a product you have tried before but you can use video platforms like YouTube to learn about a similar product before writing your review. You earn between $2 and $25 on each review submitted here and one review should take a few minutes.

Capterra is a platform where you get paid for reviewing software. You need to follow some guidelines when writing these reviews and you earn an average of $10 for each of them.

SoftwareJudge is similar to Capterra and it offers steady review jobs. You can earn up to $50 here per review.

G2 is a software review platform that mostly pays in gift cards and not cash.

If books and music reviews are the type of writing you enjoy, you should consider platforms like Online Book Club, Reedsy Discovery, Slicethepie, PlaylistPush, and Urban Flaiire.

Online Book Club is the top destination for online book lovers. The community allows you to join for free and earn money by reading and reviewing the books in their extensive online library. You can earn between $5 and $60 per review here.

Reedsy Discovery wouldn’t pay you directly for writing reviews, but review readers can tip you a minimum of $1 if your review is useful.

Slicethepie started as a music review platform, today, you can review many other content aside from music, including commercials, fashion goods, and accessories. The payout here starts from a few cents.

PlaylistPush is an ideal platform to review newly released songs from new and existing artists. You can earn up to $15 per review here. You may need to have a Sportify playlist with some followers before you can earn your review here.

Urban Flaiire is a simple site that allows you to write a maximum of 160 words per review on music in the hip-hop, electric, R&B, Pop, Chill wave, and urban genre music. This platform may not pay you directly but your readers can tip you with any amount.

Magazines and Website Pitching

Instead of looking for review writing jobs on job boards, you can earn more by taking the traditional approach of pitching directly to websites and magazines. The lists of websites and magazines to pitch your review are endless but the best ones are; Listverse, Shvoong, Cineaste, VAN, Bitch Media, Contingent Magazine, Screen Rant, Cultured Vultures, Kirkus Media, The US Review of Books.

Listverse is a place where you can publish listicles. The site accepts lists of everything under the planet, hence you can write product reviews on topics like Top Best Baby Monitors in 2024. You can also write reviews of music, books, movies, appliances, and so on. This site will pay you $100 if your listicle is published.

Shvoong tags itself as the “Knowledge Sharing Platform”. The platform publishes an array of topics, including reviews of restaurants, laptop accessories, and mattresses. This platform shares a fraction of its revenue with reviewers.

Cineaste is a quarterly magazine that caters to individuals interested in cinemas. The platform publishes book reviews, movie reviews, and even DVD/Blu-ray reviews. You will earn between $18 and $45 reviews based on the type of review.

VAN is a classical music magazine that rewards its reviewers for reviews and other kinds of writing. They are particularly into classical music reviews. This site pays but it wasn’t publicly announced.

Bitch Media is a colorful online publication that publishes feminist perspectives on issues. This company accepts all kinds of content including reviews and articles. It publishes feminist views on movies, albums, and television shows. This platform is one of the highest-paying options out there giving between $250 and $1000 per review.

Contingent Magazine is an online magazine that publishes content on history, including book reviews, museum exhibits, movie reviews, and television shows. The platform pays up to $250 per review.

Screen Rant is a popular entertainment platform that publishes reviews on movies, comics, video games, and TV shows. Though the platform does not publish the amount they pay, but they sure play their contributors.

Cultured Vultures is a UK-based platform that pays for movie and video game reviews. They pay £5 per review. You will also get a bonus for every 200 reactions to your reviews.

Kirkus Media is an online magazine that accepts book reviews and pays for them. Though, the platform does not publish how much they pay reports show up to $50 per article.

The US Review of Books is a website that accepts book reviews from freelancers. You need to submit your resume and a few samples to be accepted to write reviews here. Credible suggests that this platform pays between $25 and $75 per book review.
