2-More than 90% of creditors support restructuring, claims WazirX
Creditors had almost 10 days to vote on Zettai's restructuring plan, and WazirX users with close to $196 million in claims supported it by more than 90% before a Singapore judicial review.
WazirX, which lost over $230 million due to a July 2024 hack by North Korean Lazarus Group, said the results “significantly exceed” the statutory voting threshold, which requires a majority by count and 75% of the total value of claims from creditors present and voting to approve the scheme in a blog post.
The voting procedure on Kroll Issuer Services from March 19 to 28 included almost 141,000 creditors with $195.6 million in authorized claims.
WazirX's parent firm, Zettai, will now seek judicial permission for the scheme. Distributions will commence within 10 business days if approved, with trading and withdrawals resuming in stages. WazirX will develop a decentralized exchange as part of the restructure, although a debut date is unknown.
A WazirX spokesman informed crypto.news that “if the majority of the voters choose to ‘Vote Yes’ for the Scheme, and it becomes effective, the first round of fund distribution of approximately 80-85% will happen in 10 business days.”
Nischal Shetty, Siddharth Menon, and Sameer Mhatre founded WazirX in 2018 as one of India's top crypto exchanges by volume. It traded around $43 billion in December 2021, up 1,735% from 2020.
In July 2024, WazirX lost more over $234 million in crypto assets. The Lazarus squad, North Korea's state-sponsored hacking squad, was responsible, according to a January State Department news statement. The organization also hacked CoinEx in September 2023, stealing $54 million.
3-Black Monday failed. Prior crypto market crashes: how long did recovery take?
As Trump conducted the trade war and placed tariffs on dozens of nations on 'Liberation Day' (Apr. 2, 2025), markets started to quake and plummeted on Monday morning, April 7, as Trump showed no indications of altering his mind. Recession is predicted by experts.
Crypto market crash was devastating. Bitcoin fell 7.7% in 24 hours on Apr. 7, while Ether, Solana, XRP, BNB, and others plummeted 20%, 9%, and more. Prices dropped 3–5%. Within 24 hours, leveraged crypto investments lost $600 million.
The U.S. stock market ended slightly down. US markets began down 3%, but prices rose by day's conclusion. Rumors of a 90-day tariff moratorium for all nations except China softened the decline. The White House quickly denounced these reports as false news. It fell less than 1% today. Nasdaq had its biggest daily amplitude since 2008.
4-HBAR rises 22% on Nvidia integration; additional gains?
The excitement began when Anthony Rong, regional vice president of Engineering at Nvidia, posted on LinkedIn about how the two teams are collaborating to bring AI and blockchain closer.
Rong believes Hedera's fast, secure, and energy-efficient public ledger might help create AI trust. As AI grows in healthcare, banking, supply chains, and autonomous cars, Hedera can check AI-generated data in real time.
Hedera simplifies data origin tracking, reducing AI system confusion, mistakes, and fraud. Its minimal energy utilization supports Nvidia's sustainable, high-performance tech.
