Vision meets fashion! So, eyewear not only corrects vision but also protects your eyes from the dangerous ultraviolet rays. In the same fashion, this accessory expresses your style. Moreover, there are many different colors, designs, and frame shapes. Keep scrolling to learn all about eyewear.
Vision Meets Fashion – National Eyewear Day
Since today is National Eyewear Day, it’s essential to see clearly.
First and foremost, it is important to schedule regular eye exams. Of course, our eyes are a vital part of our overall health.
The first glasses were invented in the 13th century in Northern Italy. Monks used their spectacles to copy religious manuscripts. In addition, they wore them to read. But many people couldn’t keep their glasses on their faces.
In 1452, the printing press saw the need for eyeglasses increase. Many companies came up with ways to make them more wearable. However, it wasn’t until 1732, a London Optician added rods to the frames to have them rest easily on the ears. Furthermore, 22 years later, hinges were added to the rods.
National Eyewear Day is a reminder to everyone to take better care of their eyes. To learn about why you should take better care of your eyes, visit my National Eye Exam Month post.
When you wear a pair of well-made sunglasses, you are protecting your eyes from the dangerous ultraviolet rays. For other tips on protecting your eyes, face, and body, check out my Sunscreen Day = Apply, Reapply, and Repeat post.
