Everyone is a brand. If you have social media accounts, and you post frequently, you can be a content creator and an influencer. When I started my blog many years ago, I did so because I wanted to share my passion for African fashion, beauty, and lifestyle with the rest of the world. I didn't know I would become an influencer with over 10K Instagram followers. This blog post is my attempt to share the lessons I've learned along the way and how you can become an expert influencer. The majority of the things I will share in this post are based on an IntroFuel online marketing course called How To Become an Expert and Sought-After Influencer. It costs just $49. This course was not advertised by me. It was insightful because it helped me to understand the state of influencer marketing today and what I should do to get sought-after by brands. I was given it for free. I blog about what I learned in order to help others also benefit from this rich learning opportunity.

Who are Influencers?

Let's now talk about what an influencer is. A person who is a well-known influencer in a niche has a large following and can influence the buying decisions of that group. People who are considered to be experts in their field and have a large following on social media will most likely be called Influencers. They have a large following that is interested in their posts. It is important to recognize that influencers can be of different types. There are industry experts, celebrities, thought leaders, bloggers, content creators, and micro-influencers. Find out which category you fall into. Many influencers started their blogs and social media accounts as side hustles. As you can see, you can be an influencer even though you have a job. It doesn't take much to be a fashion influencer. However, it can be lucrative enough to support you full-time if done correctly.

Why You Should Be An Influencer

You might be able to get products from the brands you love by being an influencer. For example, fashion influencers can get products to try before they are made public. You can also review the products. Many influencers get to travel, see hotels, and attend events for free in return for sharing content on their websites. In exchange for your blog posts or social media promotion, brands will often offer free products. The fact that you can become an influencer opens up more opportunities for networking and career advancement. If you don't actively create content and build a network of people who are interested in what you have to offer, some of the benefits of being an influencer wouldn't happen. Finally, being an influencer can offer a lot in professional development. All that content creation and blogging will give you a wide range of new skills. Imagine how it would feel to have expertise in copywriting, marketing, and graphic design added to your portfolio.

Consider Your Social Media Profiles

You should consider building a strong social presence as an influencer by joining the best platforms for influencer marketing. It all depends on your audience and niche, but Instagram is the most popular channel for influencer marketing. YouTube is next, though it does require an initial investment in video editing software and audio-visual equipment. Facebook is best for older people aged between 30-65 and over. Twitter is another option. You think there are too many platforms? There are ways to syndicate posts across all channels. This means that if you post on Instagram, it will also appear on Facebook and Twitter. YouTube has its advantages, and video is no exception. Many people are moving away from reading blogs and turning to YouTube as their main source of content. You can find video content entertaining. It's easy to view and listen, plus you can replay or rewind the video as many times as you wish to keep up with the story. While I haven't made videos in a while, I need to update my YouTube channel. I will soon do this once I know what my long-term strategy will be. If your target audience is younger, Instagram can be a great tool for influencer marketing. You can have a lot of success by building a following. It is one of the fastest-growing social media platforms. You want to create content that is clear, concise, and bright. This will attract more attention. This will increase the chances of your post being viewed on the Explore page.

Monetizing Your Influence

There are many ways to monetize your influence, and this is where I am at the moment. I'm trying to figure how blogging about fashion, especially with an African twist, can lead to a profit. Full disclosure. Full disclosure. I have received income and products from brands who want to work with me, but not a large amount. I plan to evaluate everything I do as an influencer, and find the best strategies for me and my audience. I will also be looking into potential brands to partner with. You can start monetizing content with a 500-1000 follower following, according to the How To Become an Expert and Sought after Influencer course. You can charge a post based on the quality of your followers, influence and engagement. But one thing is certain: you need to have the basics. You should have a website with traffic and be an expert in your field to start partnering with brands in your sector to get either free products or commissions. Bottom line, your content must be of high quality. This includes everything you post on your blog as well as the images and videos. Content is the king. Be deliberate about what content you create and publish. Your journey to earning a decent income will take a lot longer if you create whatever you want whenever you want.

Side-hustles have become the new way to secure your job. It's no surprise that everyone wants to start a blog and become a social media influencer. There are many benefits that outweigh any cons. These tips should help you consider how you can make an impact on the world or, if you are already one, how you can increase your income. The course that I am currently taking offers so much more. It covers everything you need to know about current trends, including how to plan your Instagram feed and how to take great Instagram photos. The course will help you build your brand.
