Alexa?! Play Fashion By David Bowie

Ok i am by no means a Jace Lipstein, Tom ford or Paul smith, but i do love and i have no right dabbling in the men's fashion realm, but i do love a good looking guy in a tailored suit and dressed suit, or even just casual sports wear.

NUMBER 5:

mod cons/ northern soul

The era of the mod always fascinated me with what they used to wear. I have bought my father, who is also a mod, three Harrington jackets in the past in three different colours with the tartan trim, and he has loved them.

I also purchased him a few t-shirts with the northern soul keep the faith symbol, and a few with scooter and target symbol on, and even designed a few myself as a small birthday present.

The hair, the jackets and the pants were kind of retro in the sixties. Bear in mind this was straight after the Teddy Boy era of mens fashion, had seriously swapped and changed into the sixties from the fifties, i guess being brought up a mod child i had the inside scoop of the style from my father.

Number 4:

Teddy Boy Era

This was one of the era’s where men looked sophisticated and stylish the drainpipe trousers high waisted finished of with a belt, and the velvet jacket with the black roll collar, or a full shawl collar with velvet trim, i always remember looking back at pictures of my grandad back when he was younger wearing a brown jacket, standing next to my nan he was a handsome man even in his later years.

Now as for suite materials the velvet jacket then was all the range the matching cuffs to the colours of the jacket and throughout the years have been modified throughout the years and have been worn by Meany a celebrity over the past few decades, let say the style has surpassed it 50s roots, the half moon pockets and draped long backs of the jacket reminiscent of the Edwardian era with a three button closer or sometimes just one single button.

The reason I love this style is, 1, it reminds me of old pictures of my grandad and 2, it's such a classic style that can be easily adapted to this day but still stay in the 50s like a clothing time machine you can go back to.

Number 3:

Suites/Tuxedos

Suits : I like many women I am sure, love a man in a classy suit, there's just something about it when a man is dressed up to go to a wedding or an event they always look super hot or dapper as the term may be, me specifically dark haired men and brown eyes killer combination, putting the phrase tall dark and handsome brings a whole new meaning when they are dressed up, now i prefer black ties with a suit it and silver tie pin and a white pocket square, but also if there is a colour theme red tie and royal blue are great match i think.

Tuxedo: now there is a difference with a tuxedo to a suit, the difference being, the satin lapels the satin buttons and of course the satin stripe down the side of the pants again the classy sophisticated styles but finished with a dickie bow, worn with winged or turned down collars with a waistcoat it turns into utter perfection with the added shine of the dress shoes.

Number 2:

Golf trousers with Polo shirts

Another classy style i love on a man, golf attire there is just something about men in this style, my dad plays golf but I'm not talking about a casual you know Sunday afternoon on the fairway at The Royal Liverpool Golf Course, we are talking the professionals in the rider cup they all look incredible.

Trousers: from the tapped leg style down to the narrow cuffs of the trousers, personally black, white and grey are my favourite colours of trousers, black belt goes well with all three colours but i think the look with the white trousers can be finished with a brown belt also, maybe if they feel risky enough for style they could risk the white belt with grey pants for me personally i would not style it that way but that is my personal opinion.

Polo Shirt: styled with the above trousers black, white and slate grey are my favourite polo shirt colours, as for other colours as before with the tie colours for a suit, i once again love Red and royal blue polo’s with the trouser, i am also partial to a powder blue or a baby pink. But these again are what I feel really go together.

Number 1:

Sports look/ Casual/ other styles

Sports Look: Grey Sweatpants , there i said it men in grey sweatpants and a black or white tank top holy hell one of my favourite looks.

Casual Look: My favourite casual look on a guy is a tight fitting jeans, and a shirt or a polo neck jumper with a nice pair of shoes and/ or trainers, staying casual for a lunch date or a meeting looks great on some guys.

Men in general when well dressed can pull off anything. These were just my opinions on men's style and my favourites as I said I have no right to be in this realm but also I just admire a good looking guy when they are well dressed.

Hope you enjoyed this. I will see you in the next one.
