Back-to-school Hairstyle? Half Wigs Are Lit!
New In Glueless Wigs Series 2025

It's late August, two weeks before school starts in September. I'm scratching my hair in the mirror until it's practically bald—the yellow hair I've been growing all summer is dry and split, and the newly grown black roots look like they've been wearing a black hat, as if they've just been dug out of the earth. Just as I'm sighing over my straightening iron, my mom pulls out a half wig from the closet: "Try this! Your cousin wore it this summer and it turned heads. I'm sure it'll be perfect for you when school starts this fall."

This natural black kinky straight half wig in glueless wigs series is about size of a palm. I tried it on beforehand. I buckled it onto my head, the adjuster clicked, and I pulled my hair down to cover the edges. It took only three minutes. After turning around in the mirror twice, my jaw dropped. My hair was completely invisible, now with such fluffy curls that it looked like I'd just gotten a haircut. The best part was, it only covered the top of my head, leaving the loose strands at the back visible. Who would even know I was "cheating"?
On the first day of school, I was going to be the center of attention with these "fake" curls. Imagine my deskmate coming over and rubbing my hair, "Did you secretly get a perm over the summer? These curls are so natural!" I'd be so choked up that my stomach ached, calling it a "family secret." The best part was not having to struggle with my hair in the mornings. I used to have to pull out three strands just to do a ponytail. Now, with a half wig on, I can just wipe my face and rush out of the dorm. Being late? No way!
I'm also planning on getting a half wig with airy bangs. If the first period is my major class at 8 a.m., and the professor suddenly calls me to give a presentation, I won't have to worry about my hair being a mess after sleeping through the night before and leaving it like a bird's nest. In a moment of urgency, I put on a bangs style. The thin, faux bangs draped across my forehead instantly concealed my dark circles, and the professor might even compliment me, "You look so energetic today." When I leave the stage, the girls in the back row will probably pass me notes asking, "Where did you get your bangs? What's the shop name?"
I have a feeling this will be a boon for students. During the 800-meter run in gym class, other people's fake bangs get all over their faces, but my half-wig, because it's only fixed to the top of my head, stays put no matter how much I hop around. When I stay up all night studying for a monthly exam and wake up with a messy mess, I can pull out a half-wig and still have a polished hairstyle. Plus, it's only a few hundred yuan, so it won't hurt if it gets dropped or bumped, unlike a full-length wig that requires careful handling.
Maybe when our class goes on an autumn outing in September, I'll go get a caramel-colored half-wig specifically. While hiking, the wind blew my hair everywhere. My companion kept adjusting her full-length wig, while I casually adjusted my half-wig tighter. I took photos and ran wild, keeping it in shape the entire time. At dinner that evening, my class monitor might clink glasses with me, saying, "Your hair is amazing! It's weathered by the wind and sun without a mess!"
I'm already planning to stock up on three different half-wig colors in my dorm drawer. I'll wear them Monday through Friday after school starts. Maybe even my counselor will compliment me on my "vibrant hairstyle." Seriously, want to look great for the start of school but don't want the hassle? Half-wigs are a real bargain. Affordable, big results without having to worry about your hair—this is a great deal for students!
