When I was born, I wasn't blind. My life experience strange, if it is written into a book, enough to give posterity a little lesson.

My father is a king and I am a crown prince. I grew up learning the Quran and know the seven ways of reading the Quran. As a young man, I studied with many wise men, mastered astronomy, geography, poetry and prose, and immersed myself in various kinds of knowledge and techniques. As a result, my knowledge and achievements have been outstanding in the contemporary academic circles, and my reputation has spread far and wide.

When the king of India heard that I was so learned, he sent envoys carrying valuable gifts and laboriously traveling thousands of miles to visit me in my country, and invited me to give lectures in India. My father had arranged for me to go on my voyage in six big ships, loaded with gifts, horses and camels, so we set sail for a whole month on the sea, and then at a port we brought out the horses and camels, unloaded the gifts, and were carried by ten camels, and I rode to India, attended by my men.

We had not gone long this time when a hurricane rose in the wilderness, blowing dust over the sky. When the storm subsided, fifty fierce knights in armor suddenly appeared in the wilderness. When we looked closely, we realized that they were a band of Arab robbers. As we were outnumbered and had ten heavy loads of valuables with us, they were invited to push and rob us. When they attacked us, I said to them, "We are foreign envoys going to India to visit the king. You cannot treat us like this."

"We are not in his country. We are not under his jurisdiction at all." As they spoke, they began to kill and plunder.

Some of my men were killed, others fled in all directions, and I myself was badly wounded. Fortunately, the robber was so attracted by the property that he did not notice me, and I was able to escape. At that time I was a noble and blessed man. When I was in trouble, I was dismayed and bewildered, and could not distinguish my direction or course at all.

I ran for my life among the barns, and hurried into a cave and hid. The next day he got out of the cave and ran away in a hurry until he finally wandered into a city. The city is densely populated and a fertile scene of sunny weather. The end of winter has just passed, and the gentle wind is bringing spring. Flowers are blooming everywhere, and the flowing water is whispering to the fluttering birds.

A city of peaceful people,

There was no sign of unrest at all,

Peace and quiet is its face,

It seems to be an arcadia,

In the lives of ordinary people,

There are only moving gestures forever.

When I entered the city, the stone fell from my heart.

I was exhausted. I was paralyzed by days of terror, and I did not know where to find a home in this strange city. I walked past a tailor's shop, dragging my legs as if they were filled with lead, and greeted him. The tailor stopped me and asked me with concern how I had drifted here. I recounted to him the events of my journey which I had been robbed by robbers. When he heard what had happened to me, he was very worried about me and said:

"Young man, you must not reveal yourself. I am afraid for you. Do you know that our king, he is your father's enemy, and there is an old feud between the two nations, and he will arrest you?"

Then he brought me something to eat and drink with me. We sat and talked late into the night. He put me in a dark room to rest, and brought me bedding and other necessities. So I stayed three days in the tailor's house, and he asked me:

"Do you know a craft for a living?"

"I am a scholar, well versed in the Qur 'an, good at handwriting, arithmetic and accounting."

"None of your knowledge is of use here, where people know nothing but business."

"Allah is my witness, except for this knowledge and knowledge, I do not know any other craft."
