PSA For All Military Members
You Have The Right To Defend America Peacefully Through The Constitution
I'm just gonna get straight to the point: The Orangatang King that sits as our POTUS right now has the intelligence AND morality of a hornet.
The concerns on the abuse of power from Oompa Loompa Troompa are growing, and unrest in the country is getting worse. We have people afraid that Martial Law will be declared. California has already faced its own law enforcement turning their guns on peaceful protests, and we have seen an act of war against Australia with an American militant intentionally and knowingly shooting one of their journalists in the leg.
Now people are afraid the military are going to be ordered onto US citizens in the way of martial law, especially in the states that are heavily democrat or liberal.
Luckily - we know that the military do not take direct commands from the POTUS, and military members can respectfully deny to obey orders that are unconstitutional.AND they are OBLIGATED to report the person who issued the command that violated constitutional rights of American citizens.

Only lawful orders have to be followed. This is what the Manual for Courts-Martial says about the lawfulness of orders:
(i) Inference of lawfulness. An order requiring the performance of a military duty or act may be inferred to be lawful, and it is disobeyed at the subordinate’s peril. This inference does not apply to a patently illegal order, such as one that directs the commission of a crime.
(ii) Determination of lawfulness. The lawfulness of an order is a question of law to be determined by the military judge.
(iii) Authority of issuing officer. The commissioned officer issuing the order must have authority to give such an order. Authorization may be based on law, regulation, custom of the Service, or applicable order to direct, coordinate, or control the duties, activities, health, welfare, morale, or discipline of the accused.
(iv) Relationship to military duty. The order must relate to military duty, which includes all activities reasonably necessary to accomplish a military mission, or safeguard or promote the morale, discipline, and usefulness of members of a command and directly connected with the maintenance of good order in the Service. The order may not, without such a valid military purpose, interfere with private rights or personal affairs. However, the dictates of a person’s conscience, religion, or personal philosophy cannot justify or excuse the disobedience of an otherwise lawful order. Disobedience of an order which has for its sole object the attainment of some private end, or which is given for the sole purpose of increasing the penalty for an offense which it is expected the accused may commit, is not punishable under this article.
(v) Relationship to statutory or constitutional rights. The order must not conflict with the statutory or constitutional rights of the person receiving the order.
The issue is the grey areas in which orders are illegal.
There is of course, due process and it is always a risk. Disobeying an order that is NOT illegal could have serious consequences.
Right now, we are depending on our soldiers, their commanding officers, and all leaders of all the different military branches to KNOW what is considered unconstitutional - and what isn't.
We have a right as Americans to be wary of what is going to happen in the next few months, even years. The likelihood of being protected by the people who are supposed to be protecting the citizens from both the government and outside threats is becoming smaller and smaller.
You can call them even if you are uncertain to seek legal counsel on orders you have received, if you feel as if what you have been ordered to do could be a violation of the Constitution and Civil Rights.

Keep holding on America, this is just another chapter of history we're making.

This is a pretty intense read. You make some valid points about the concerns around power abuse and martial law. It's a complex situation.
