Life in the military.

Serving your country.

By Guy lynnPublished 5 months ago 3 min read

Military service is not all guts and glory, fierce fighting, terror, action, killing and fighting. Most of the it is sheer boredom, mundane work (think latrine duties), training, guarding the perimeter walls, that kind of service. It is necessary, it has to be done, 6 months of sheer boredom, and 5 minutes of sheer terror when you make contact with the enemy and all kinds of shit hits the fan! So you have to always have to be prepared to spring into action, and be aware of your surroundings so that you aren’t caught by surprise. So when the space force was created by President Trump, it wasn’t all about space ships patrolling space looking for invading extraterrestrials invading earth. the mission was for the brave men and women in that branch of the military to protect our country from our enemies here on earth and also to protect our planet from external threats. And most of that mission is guard duty. Looking outside the gates and walls of of our forts and outside our space vehicles we are patrolling in. It’s not a very glamorous job, although it might appear to be. I mean, traveling into space, going to the moon, to occupy a forward base on the lunar surface. Sounds exciting. For about an hour, then boredom kicks in, and you have to concentrate on your awareness of your mission and duties. Because when it happens, it happens quick, and you better be ready. But really, in all of our history, I can’t think of a more beautiful and awe inspiring sight as being stationed on our forward base at our Lunar base on the moon. What a view, gazing down onto the blue planet we call earth, where all our dreams and loved ones live. What a privilege to be responsible for protecting the planet for all the people who inhabit it from all the possible threats that might come, and also protecting our country, The United States of America, from all threats from our enemies on the planet earth that we share with all those people Who live on there. It sounds weird, protecting our enemies as we protect ourselves from them. But one day, if not right now, those enemies might not be just on earth, they will be on the moon, or another planet or moon in the solar system, or on a space station, or a rocket traveling towards us with hostile intent. It’s not science fiction, it’s real life, and we have to be prepared for that event. And we are. Not only the moon, and like anything involving the military or national security, it is shrouded in secrecy and in need to know information. And it’s not just the moon. It’s also Mars. We are not just exploring space and other planetary bodies for future knowledge, which we are, but for military advantage. That’s one angle, and it’s an important aspect. We have to be prepared for any and every eventuality that might occur. Because it will occur eventually, you can bet on it. Extraterrestrial threats are out there, and watching, and as we humans expand our reach beyond our little insignificant planet, they will be paying attention. And not only that, but closer to home, our planetary historical enemies will want to compete with our plans, and stop our progress, and overtake our progress. So the mission of Space Force is critical, and probably the most forward thinking we have ever conceived Of. Thank you President Trump. And also as important as just military preparedness, is the idea of having a plan B for humanity. Right now Earth is our only home. We need a planet B if Earth loses the battle of sustainability against climate change or overwhelming nuclear destruction, or an inevitable asteroid impact which wipes out all life on Earth. And if we are to start with a colony on Mars, we will need our brave military to protect us and our National and our human interests. From all our enemies, both domestic , earthly and extraterrestrial.

to our brave military, thank you for your service.
