Your Mental Health is Important
Remember to help yourself for time to time

One of the best realizations that came out of the pandemic was how important our mental health is.
Everyone was trapped inside their homes for longer than they were used to, and it created some bad habits for all of us.
For me, I stopped socializing and when I went back to being around others, I felt out of place.
It took some time before I was comfortable being in crowds again, but I got there.
These issues and others have prevented us from living our lives. We have becomes too concerned with other ideas that we grow in our minds to the point of overwhelming ourselves.
Below are a few ways to help yourself in terms of your mental health.
Overthinking Sucks
This is one of the biggest problems for people today.
How many times have you come up with a great idea and never followed through because you thought about everything to do for it?
This happens to me all the time. I come up with an idea, look up what I have to do to move forward and get overwhelmed by how much there is.
When, it’s as simple as 1,2,3.
You may have had this experience before. I recommend taking action immediately. Find one thing you must do, I start small, and use that to build momentum.
Once you start working, you won’t be able to stop!
I get so many ideas for writing that I have to create a plan. I write down what I want to do and then step back and see if it’s doable.
If you want to be more productive in life, don’t let overthinking be the reason you fail. Find something you can do and build off if as much as you can. You’ll be surprised how easy it is after you get started.
Run Into Distractions
When we were in school, having trouble focusing was a major issue. Even today it’s looked for in students but in some situations, it is beneficial to be distracted.
If you’re stressed out it can help to distract yourself from what is bothering you. This allows you to calm down quicker and then you can think about how to fix your problem.
Someone I know gets overwhelmed easily and asks me to distract her all the time because she knows if she keeps thinking the way she is she will become more overwhelmed.
Staying focused on work or everyday tasks is important but when it come to your mental health, it may be better for you to distract yourself so you can take a breather.
No one wants to be stuck in a state of depression or anxiety. Focusing more will only make those problems worse. Set a timer, distract yourself from what’s bothering you, and when the timer goes off, get back to work.
Slow Down
While the world is getting louder and faster, the best we can do for our mental health is slow down.
This idea is a bit unorthodox, but it can help break old patterns and get rid of the ones that have been keeping you stuck. When I started doing this, I was determined to be more productive and faster.
The idea of making the most of my time was so ingrained in me that I spent a lot of time listening to podcasts, watching YouTube videos, and working on short work sessions.
This cause me to lose control of what I was doing. I wanted to maximize my time but instead I as all over the place. As a result, my tasks were half finished before I started the next one.
I didn’t realize until I burnt out and had to take some time for myself.
It’s a good idea to maximize you time but that means creating a moment to recharge. I learned when you slow down, you can see what you’re doing right and what needs work.
Final Thoughts
Life would be much easier without problems. Unfortunately, we all have something we must deal with in our lives.
It sucks, but I believe that the bad times allows the good times to feel better. Without one, the other would become boring.
So, don’t get so upset when you find yourself in one of these situations. Take a moment to slow down the situation and think.
Not too much, but enough to get yourself through it.
At the end of the day, find something to take your mind off the stressful day you just had. Some enjoy watching movies or playing video games. While other read books and write articles.
