The untold story
1. Ride 40 miles through the desert at night. When Griffin heard that Bryant had biked 40 miles through the desert his first night on the team, he asked Bryant if he could bring him next time.
2. Losing 16 pounds for the London Olympics. He said that he has been training to reduce the weight of his knees for the London Olympics and the upcoming season.
3. Play percentage bullfight with high school teammates. The one who gets 100 points first wins. But Bryant never lost. His worst game was 100-12.
4. Train often in the air. "Walking into the gym, you would often see him making off-the-ball moves, cutting, shooting and mumbling -- but he didn't have the ball," O 'Neal writes.
5. Intense training on game day. In addition to his regular training sessions, Bryant also does suicide push-ups during game days. He would push himself off the mat with all his might, then slap his pectoral muscles with the palms of his hands. He does three sets of these exercises for every seven push-ups.
6. The meaning of jersey numbers
Bryant attended Lower Merion High School in Philadelphia before entering the NBA. In his first year on the high school basketball team, Bryant wore the number 24.
A year later, Bryant changed his jersey number to 33 because his father had worn it.
After entering the NBA to play for the Lakers, Bryant wanted to continue wearing the number 33, but it had been retired by the Los Angeles Lakers. The number 33 of the Lakers belonged to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, so Kobe chose the number 8. That's because Bryant's number was 143 during adidas ABCD training camp, and 1+4+3=8, so that's where the number came from.
Bryant changed his NBA jersey number to 24 in 2006, when Phil Jackson revealed that it was because Bryant wanted to outdo Jordan, so he changed his jersey number to just a little more than 23.
7. Someone who is fluent in multiple languages
Clearly, Bryant knows how to speak English. But did you know that he speaks two other languages fluently?
Bryant grew up in Italy, where his father played professionally, and quickly became fluent in Italian. The NBA star has also learned to speak Spanish, a phrase he often uses on and off the court with his teammate Pau Gasol, a Spaniard.
Bryant also speaks fluent French and picked up some Serbian and Slovenian language from teammates Sasha Vujacic and Vladimir Radmanovic.
8. Middle name
Kobe Bryant is one of the most unique middle names in all of sports. Bryant's middle name, "Bean," was given to him by his father, who gave him the nickname "Jellybean" during his playing career.
While this is an interesting fact in itself, you may not know that Bryant's middle name doesn't actually appear on his birth certificate or any other official document such as his passport.
9. Rap
Many NBA fans are aware of Bryant's brief rap career, but what is not widely known is the history of his rap career.
Bryant has said he fell in love with hip-hop and rap music while growing up in Italy, a passion that expanded after he moved to the United States.
In 1992, when Bryant was a high school student, he joined a Wutang-style rap group called CHEIZAW with many of his high school friends. The group was actually signed by SONY Entertainment, but dropped out before their first album was released.
The name CHEIZAW apparently comes from the Chi Sah gang in the 1979 martial arts film The Kid With the Golden Arm.
summarize
The greatest SG of the post-Jordan era. Along with Dwyane Wade is the last pure shooting guard representative, individual honors numerous, Lakers logo.
As far as technical characteristics are concerned, CIC has reached the perfect level, basically no dead corners, back play is also effective pull group! Being a pure SG isn't as good as his scoring power, but it's good enough when the Lakers don't have a top PG. Always one of the top wideouts in the league, but in general far better than most twos!
As far as character is concerned, competitive heart is very strong! Because of some remarks and some negative events black numerous, but see it as the driving force, visible heart strong! They may even delay surgery or return early to win.
In general, Kobe is unique, he has to shoulder more doubt and blame than Jordan, which contributed to his success! He influenced a lot of fans and had a huge impact. As a player, he was one of the greatest players of the post-Jordan era. Love him or hate him, he's Kobe!
