The Protagonist

I'm uncertain about her condition, but I heard some noises from her room last night. My tenant, Riya, seems to be in distress. She's been asleep for 18 hours. When I went to wake her up, the sight was alarming. Her room was immaculate, but she was lying on her bed, which was stained red with blood. She's been menstruating for 18 hours, and blood is still seeping onto the bed. Despite sleeping for 18 hours, she had dark circles under her eyes when she woke up.

I called an ambulance and accompanied her to the hospital. According to her medical reports, everything was normal. I was puzzled by this. Some neighbors believe she's under the influence of negative energies, but as a psychiatrist, I don’t subscribe to such beliefs. As soon as she recovered, she was discharged from the hospital and came home. Then I went to her room again and this time she seemed to be totally fine. I asked her about all these things and this time I noticed a slight change in her voice and a different look in her eyes, I wondered what happened to her.

Then she told me about a boy who had been coming every Friday night for the last two weeks. She didn't know anything about him but every time she found him near the meat shop which is just two streets away from our house. She wakes up in the morning and goes to the bakery shop to get bread, and the bakery is near the meat shop. The boy is standing near the meat shop and smoking. As she crosses the meat shop, she falls down on the ground and when she wakes up, she finds herself half-naked in her own room with her arms and legs tied to the bed and that boy is smoking in front of her. Suddenly the boy stands up and puts the cigarette in her navel and then she feels unbearable pain, and he tortures her all night.

In the next appointment with the doctor, her medical reports revealed tremendous information about her, that she has a brain tumor in the Temporal lobe of the brain for the past 2 years. At a glance, I was shocked and started crying because my mind had built some feelings for her and I think I'm in love with her. My mind was in rush , So many things are running in mind but finally I realizes that everything was her imagination. This tumor stimulates every part of her body when she falls asleep. I found out all the reasons behind the uncertain things that happened with her.

She used to sleep in the afternoon on Friday and wake up on Saturday evening. During this time period, her temporal lobe of the brain is active and it starts creating a dreamy visual world in her mind. That's why all these uncertain things were happening with her. The things that happened with her in the imaginary world affect her real life as well. When that boy put a cigarette in her navel she suffered from unbearable pain in her dream but actually, that pain is from her continuous menstrual cycle and as that boy tortured her all night she thought she didn't have proper sleep so she got dark circles under her eyes. I was speechless at that time when I came to know this. All I can do is just pray to God to give her a better life in the future by curing her disease and luckily there is a cure for this tumor. I hope she'll get well soon.
