The Heart Chakra of Earth
The greens of Glastonbury

Our earth is a living breathing organism with energy fields of its own. Like our body the earth too has 7 chakras of energy pools and 7 such magical places where the winds speak to you if you listen.
Let me start by revealing these power spots and the secrets they claim to hold after which I shall let you in on my experience at one such chakra. The Chakra of the heart.
The base or the red chakra of the earth: This root is the foundational source of all the energy that flows through and influences the world. It is associated with our basic survival instincts. This red chakra is located at Mount Shasta, California, USA.
The sacral orange chakra of the earth: This is the most fun chakra. It is associated with pleasures, emotions and creativity. This energy is what acts as life booster. The chakra is located in Lake Titicaca, Peru, Bolivia.
The solar yellow chakra of the earth: This energy embodies balance and the will to conquer. This chakra focuses on self esteem and is said to aid with management of power and authority. This energy spot is located in Uluru rock formation, Australia.
The heart or green chakra of the earth: This chakra of love is related to all matters of the heart and the complexities and joys of all earthly relationships. This powerful chakra is located in Glastonbury, England.
The throat or blue chakra of the earth: This mature energy is associated with self expression and how freely is one able to communicate and understand the other. Its location is the majestic pyramid of Giza, Egypt.
The third eye or Indigo chakra of the earth: This mystical energy is all about intuition. It focuses on the activation of the sixth sense aiding awareness and inner peace. An interesting aspect of this chakra is its ability to move from one location to other. It has previously been in Giza and Jerusalem and is currently aligned with the heart chakra in Glastonbury!
The crown or the purple chakra: This is the ultimate energy of 'Nirvana' or a release from the material world. This chakra is what bonds us with the cosmos. The location is none other than the enchanting peaks of Himalaya. It is precisely located in Mount Kailash, India.
Now that you have an understanding of the chakras and that our mother earth has them too I am excited to share my experience to the Heart Chakra.
It all started in 2017 when a friend convinced me to a trip to Glastonbury by promising a visit to the Stonehenge in Salisbury which is a few miles from this beautiful quaint town in England. On the rather long road trip to the town I was explained of the chakras and the significance of this place. Back then all I wanted was a post for my Instagram and a souvenir from the legendary Stonehenge.
A sense of calm swept over me as we passed the greenest hills of this county. I don't know if it was a 'placebo' effect, i.e. your mind telling you to act a certain way because of some prior knowledge it has about the subject. But the trees in Glastonbury were greener. The air sweeter. The rains gentler. We waited the night at a youth hostel which was in the middle of nowhere. A rugged two storeyed wooden house with wooden benches on the front lawn, dormitories, a common kitchen and many friendly faces from all over the world. It could be the wine I had that night but the Japanese girl in my dorm who had sworn to travel the west on her own to prove a point to her father or the old nurse in the kitchen who was starting a fund raiser for her mother's ailment were the most interesting people I had ever met in my life.
The next morning my friend and I decided to visit 'The Tor'. It is a brick archway built atop a hill in Glastonbury. It is said that if you walk past it, it is as if you have told the heavens that your life on earth has been meaningful. I, a skeptic climbed the hill for sport, a good view and pictures for my social media. When my friend told me he had to meditate on the hill I ridiculed him and walked away to enjoy the view on my own.
I was at a point in my life where I was young enough to fail but old enough that my decisions could well be irreversible. One the one hand, I wanted to audition for the National School of Dance in Greece and try my luck at the art. This mostly meant I would be a hippie for life and live for myself, selfishly and adventurously. On the other, I wanted to continue my career in Finance, marry a nice guy, settle down and have kids. With these puzzling thoughts I sat alone on the hill at Glastonbury that spring morning.
Just then the cutest little girl walked up to me with her stuffed bunny. She looked rather sad and upon being asked told me that her bunny had died and she was to bury him. This tiny toddler had the most adorable lips and the lightest blue eyes. We both begun to dig when her father caught up with her. Her name was Lizzy and she apparently mourned a stuffed toy every week in the hope of getting a new one. Her father went on, "Liz is troublesome and gets me out of breath every time I have to chase her. But you see that smile? Makes everything in life all right." Lizzy hopped away having buried her bunny for probably a new one but the kid was the tie breaker for me. I was shocked at the serendipitous timing of the events. I knew I wanted kids. I knew I wanted a home of my own with the people I love in it. I knew I would wake up one Christmas morning with a coffee mug in my hand, behold the warm fire place, embrace my husband and wait for my kids to awaken and rip open their Christmas presents. I just knew. The chakra of the heart had made me a believer of the secrets of nature and how you will get your answers in the most mystical ways.
