Once upon a puff
And then into the psych ward you go
Once upon a puff there was a little girl, she smoked herself all the way to hell. Her demons showed her the truth. A truth she couldn’t bare, she couldn’t believe it with her eyes. The truth she felt, heard and remembered felt like a lie.
“Stop it Daddy”
The magic smoke made her feel for the first time, how she wished she could feel all the time. The magic smoke was a new hobby in the murder house she grew up in.
“Stop it Daddy, Please.”
Once upon a puff this little girl thought she could fly above the heavens but the demons she lived with told her so many haunting lies. She grew up believing all these lies, that the things that were bought for her were merely a distraction of the truth. Her soul was becoming spoiled, rotten & sore.
“What makes you so special.”
Once upon a puff this little girl had so many dreams, so many that she couldn’t keep count. She wanted to be and do everything in this world.
But yet the way this world was put together made her feel dumb and insecure.
Once upon a puff this little girl grew up beliveing that she had to do what was expected of her, in order for her to survive.
Survive this world, survive the judgement, survive the heartache.
Too many frogs she kissed, but she later realized her lips were just as slimy.
Once upon a puff, her family couldn’t take her anymore. For the things she was saying was too out of this world.
“Something happened, when I was 3 or 4 and then again at 7 or 8.”
D E N I E D.
DIDNT HAPPEN.
I M P O S S I B L E
To the psych ward she went.
Paranoia. Beyond belief.
At first anyway. The magic smoke made her lose herself a little bit. She felt scared, lost, she couldn’t trust anyone.
Especially since someone was coming into her room every night, touching her as she pretended to sleep. Too scared to react.
But then she met him.
He was different, his smile woke up her damaged soul. He wouldn’t leave her alone. But she loved it. She loved how his soul felt around her. They were like magnets. Polar opposites, but the more time they spent together, the more she became enthralled with him. When he’d dance with her she felt like his arms were stone walls, protecting her from everything that tried to break through.
It just happened.
We just happened.
You made me feel invincible, we felt invincible.
You helped me escape the four walls that took my humanity away from me, even though they continued to abuse me in small ways. But you were always there, you still are, even though I lose myself time to time.
Once upon a puff she and her knight in shining armour then had to be thrown out back into the harsh world. Slowly, the magic smoke found its way back to this magnetic duo. The more they smoked, the further away she felt from her love.
It was as though this inhaling hobby was the only thing that they had in common anymore. No more dancing, no more adventure, no plans or ideas for the very uncertain future.
These magnets were so strong once, so forceful with their love that so much time & so much smoke, wore them down.
Let’s go back to the beginning of the story
Back to the beginning of love
Back to the beginning of being excited to see your smiling face every early morning
Even though this little girl had been broken by too many people, she was never really broken by her love
But the world around her
Once upon a puff.
She said
No more
No more
No more
No more excuses, no more pain, no more trauma, no more lies, no more heartache.
And no more magic smoke.
I am magic.
