Did mediocrity choose you, or did your subconscious choose mediocrity?

Laziness in thought and action makes us mediocre

By SunshinePublished 2 years ago 3 min read

In work and life, most of the time we want to be able to excel, just like even in the village, we want to make others respect, let others feel that they are great. But we are very sorry to find that no matter how strong our subjective desire is, we are still very mediocre in the end, and we did not become the kind of people we imagined. What is the reason? In my personal short life experience, coupled with reading a variety of information, I personally believe that this is not only caused by external reasons and birth defects, but our own subconscious choice of mediocrity. This is a paradox. On the surface, we don't want mediocrity, but why do we subconsciously choose mediocrity?

The history of success and defeat gives us too much warning, that is, we must have a good ending. In fact, no one knows how to achieve a good ending. If the result is bad, then the person is bad. When we judge a person, we tend to be good and bad, and this black and white binary thinking erases the complex and rich nature of human nature. When a person is in the scenery, many of us follow to support and praise, and do not look at his success process and real experience, and do not admire the various spirit worthy of analysis, we look at the surface of things, which makes us often lose the opportunity to grow. We can look at all kinds of literature and history books in history, few are objective, most are one-sided. It's not a culture that lends itself to meaningful exploration because we don't really respect so-called losers.

Most of our growing up, the mind is lazy, unwilling to think about the current problem, always want someone to give themselves ready answers. Who said that the Chinese are diligent, diligent only in physical labor, but many times we do not want to use our brains. We waste too much time on small things and too much attention on words. France's Le Pen analyses a similar phenomenon in detail in his book The Rabble. Why a good person, finally can be led to a dangerous point by a leader. The expansion of this group psychology causes each individual to lose his or her independent self and even feel proud to participate in it. In the day after day, year after year of life, gradually fall into it, unable to extricate themselves. The pressure of survival makes it mentally and physically tired, there is no old spirit, and there is no action to work hard for it, pushing all the rhetoric to the outside environment. This is a society where people are impetuous, and you can't change it by yourself; But you can change yourself, let yourself meditate down to do a thing deep, do thoroughly, do others can not add to the degree.

Dickens wrote in a Tale of Two Cities: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Our greed causes us to think about the maximum benefit every time we are faced with a choice, rather than choosing what we can do. Greed disturbs the peace of mind, confuses the eyes and loses the direction. A lot of time and resources are wasted in vain.

It is not that we do not have the potential to become outstanding, nor do we not have the conditions to become useful talents, we eventually become mediocre people, become unnecessary people in society, that is the result of our subconscious choices, we are too realistic, too much attention to the result, we are too lazy, but also too greedy, so for the mediocre outcome, It seems that we can only "happy" face.
