Make haste and change pace.

The first time in ages. Lol. Taking to ride a bicycle out the house. It was okay, the atmosphere I mean, kind of not so hot. I got out of the house around 3pm-ish. Our house was a distant away from the bustle and hustle of the highways. Almost 400 meters, I guess. I wore a hoodie gray jacket and a black jogging pants on that day minus shoes (I wore slippers) and a blue backpack (with bottled water inside), of course, this is where I will put what I bought later.

When I got to the highways I saw a bunch of jeepneys, pickup trucks and motors. Lots of people too. I crossed the highway and checked out the Balut vendor if they're there. Fortunately, I got the chance to eat a “Balut”. I ordered 2 pcs of it - 16 days. It’s yummy, chewy, and a little bit salty from the soup inside. It goes well with well-made vinegar only for balut. The vinegar was okay, not sour and a bit spicy.

Balut is a popular, although unusual Filipino delicacy, served everywhere from street stalls to upscale restaurants. It is a duck egg that has been hard-boiled, fertilized, and incubated. Traditionally, the cooked embryo is consumed straight from the shell.

After I had my fill, I resumed bicycling and kept pedaling on the side of the road slowly. I don’t wear my face mask. I spilled vinegar on it earlier.

Although the air is dusty, I'm just going. I saw some interesting scenes while riding the bicycle, people waiting for jeepneys to be home. Vendors at the side of the road are busy entertaining buyers. On my right is the highway, different types of vehicles pass me. So I kept the distance to be safe.

I sweat but it’s refreshing. I got to do different things. Eat, buy yellow bananas, order a la carte spaghetti at Jollibee Drive Thru to bring home. It was my first time to wait at the drive thru while riding a bicycle.

I'm now a long way away from where the Balut vendor was and I still keep going. I thought it's still early.

It does give me some alone time and thought different things through.

At some point I reached the boundary which there's a checkpoint with Soldiers on the other side of the road. I definitely will pass through there when I go back. I did not worry though since at this time round, community situations normalize after the pandemic. However, I have to used the facemask with sour smell in it. (Didn't not bring any spares).

Then I remembered that bicycles have different designs intended for male or for females. You know what I found? Bike for females has smaller stacks, it is kind of slanted in a way and shorter saddles too. Bike for males, its top tube is kinda parallel to the ground.

I learned something!

To continue, I entered a subdivision that does not have a strict entry and I round 2-3 times inside. I like to go in this subdivision because houses are beautiful. There's a big cathedral at the entrance. There's also a basketball court. What's more interesting is that there's a part of the road that is uphill. It's challenging and thus makes your legs and lungs work.

I'm not a spy like in the movies, okay. I'm just feeding my eyes to the beautiful houses. Some with Mediterranean style and some with modern design. I thought it would be nice to have a gated house.

A penny for a thought.

Even a short walk in the park can make a difference in your lifestyle. I wanted to go cycling at this moment. I felt I could go anywhere at the same time to change the pace. I am already comfortable with being a “room person”. Previous weeks are a toll, no exercise, no sunlight, bare minimum of steps. That's set up that definitely should change. I realized it is not beneficial at all.

It deteriorates your health, self esteem and whatnot.

Change the pace. “Comfortability is the enemy of progress.” I quote. It will impact your life one way or another.
