"Vib"ranium

A Marvel-ous conversation

By Rodney Matthew MillerPublished 11 months ago 2 min read

First off "Spoiler Alert" just watched the new Captain America movie. So......there will be some references to the movie. there are a couple perspectives of Vibranium i will touch on. The most obvious is the cosmic metal that was used to make adamantium. Ok I'm 16 walking into Wegmans'; where Alec Baldwins mother shops for her groceries; to purchase a Marvel Universe update 89' comic. I walked to the magazine isle to see the selection of comics. while I was thumbing through my thoughts."lets see Wolverine, Uncanny X-men, Fantastic Four, Thor. Wow! whats this!" I came upon a gem. See I hadn't planned to purchase a Marvel encyclopedia; but when I saw it I knew. that It was exactly what I wanted. You see the encyclopedias' detailed out certain things like A character's names: like Blade's,which was unknown; teams history: like the Avengers and X-men headquarters were located in upstate New York; and super descriptions: like Adamantium is a combinations of metals. 50 percent and 50 various other metals. the advance of the various metals should be 45 percent Uru and 5 percent Titanium. Why Uru? Uru is tied to Urusalem in the Arc of the covenant; but I digress. You see in the comic books, and a wolverine origin story in the movies. Adamantiun was created by Stryker in a Canadian Research facility. Where he placed on weapon X of Alpha Flight's bones. when you know this comic book info. It makes it difficult to reconcile that adamantium came from space in the form of a Celestial AI being. this is exactly what happened in the Captain America a new world movie. I wonder if viewers of Harry Potter and Twilight had the same trouble as I did reconciling. Fortunately, the presence of Wakandan Tech and Vibranium in the movie was well represented. Now that we have dicussed the objective perspective of Vibranium. next we will discuss the subjective.

Vibranium or should i say "Vib"ranium is the heart and soul of the African Culture for the African American. one of the greatest representation of the Vibranium in the African American culture is Ryan Coogler. His attention to multiple aspect of the African culture and her influence on the world was expressed in such great details as; Fantastic locations, strong ethnic clothing,an Wmodern Ashanti tech. This brings me to the casting of African migrants because of the "Vib"ranium in their voice. the African Accent in their voice and its authenticity is the "Vib"ranium that I speak of. That vibe or resonance of their vocal cords resonates with the African Amercian Community. Even though Coogler may put on a Mars Blackmon like facade he is one Americas' most enlightened Producers and Directors. "Vib"ranium isn't just about the accent. it also about the precious metals diamonds and resources that Africa has provided to the world for centuries. For a Long time it has been presented that Africa was raped of its value to keep the proverbial wakandan shield up. what has been hidden is the various forms of affluence and academia that has been brought to world; it wasn't stolen it was shared. the question is do we continue the facade of inferiority or do we maintain our space in this unified world? considering the Vibranium we do have! If anyone is vibing with this piece. I invite you to write!
