The truth about Riley Gaines and Lia Thomas
What no one is talking about

So, I wanted to write about this because new information is coming across my for you page on Tik Tok. It is an old story but it's still relevant. We need to ask ourselves is this being presented this way to incite this reaction or is this really what is happening.
Before anyone comes after me I will ask you to think about what you are being presented. Sometimes we think we know the truth but in reality what is being presented is being told a certain way to incite anger and outrage. When I present a story, I tell it in a way that is honest and truthful. For this reason, I will be telling you what the conservatives have heard, what the liberals have heard and then the truth. Please read everything and not just what you agree with.
For the sake of this article let's define biological male and female. Biological gender is the gender a person is born as. It is also what your DNA will show if your blood is tested for forensic or medical purposes.
The conservatives believe that biological male means they are living as or identify as a man. They also view all trans women as biological men which technically they are. That's probably why they use male pronouns for trans women.
Some liberals believe that all trans people are whatever gender they identify as. They very rarely talk about biology or biological sex. They need to have the conversation especially in cases like Lia Thomas.
Trans people or those who claim to be trans are split into camps. Camp #1 are those who believe that they will always be biologically the gender they were assigned at birth. Camp #2 don't want to talk about what they are biologically.
So the Story of Lia Thomas and Riley Gaines is one that is hard to make sense of for some people. Let's start with Lia Thomas and who they are. (I decided to use gender neutral pronouns just to play it safe.) Lia Thomas was a student and swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania. From 2017 to 2020 they competed on the men's swim team and from to 2021 to 2022 they competed on the women's team. Lia had not transitioned nor had they started hormones. They only started the hormones after college claiming they were worried that it would ruin their career in college.
Riley Gaines was a female swimmer and student at the University of Kentucky. She swam against Lia Thomas and they tied. Some places said that Riley lost. Riley and other female swimmers had to share a locker room with Lia who was fully male. That was the biggest part that made the swimmers uncomfortable. Lia exposed their body in front of the other swimmers. Again Lia was not even transitioning at this point in their life.
The conservatives were upset that woman would be forced to swim against a biological man and that the man would win. They believe that athletes need to compete as the gender they were born as. They haven't even talked about the locker room situation at the same length as they have the winning aspect.
The liberals want the trans athletes to be able to compete as the gender they identify as. They don't care about where they have or are transitioning. No mention of the locker room situation. They also view Riley as a transphobic person, which she might be.
To the conservatives point it is unfair that Lia was still fully male in college. If we keep the word trans out of this, it maybe a different story. The story would read "fully male swimmer competes against female swimmers and wins". Testosterone gave Lia an unfair advantage. Testosterone does make you stronger. Lia didn't have any female physical attributes.
This year Riley was attacked at a speaking engagement and had to be escorted out of the building. She was also used in political ads for conservatives during the last election. Lia started the hormone part of her transition since this situation happened.
What are your thoughts? Are the consertative wrong? Am I missing something?

Pretty sure Lia couldn't have entered that contest without at least a year on hormone therapy, that was a requirement of the NCAA. Conservatives have also spoken at length about locker room issues. You also conflated biological gender with biological sex, which is not the same thing. There are other unsubstantiated claims in this article. I suggest you work out what you mean by honest and truthful, for starters.
The whole 'trans athletes in women's sports' issue has been popping up constantly in my YouTube feed so I had to see if anyone on Vocal was talking about it. You're not really missing anything as far as I can see.
