Right here, waiting
a #MayMicroMaker for a QVV Vocal Unofficial Challenge

Sweat fills my palms and my legs are shaking, almost failing under me. The first people began to flow out from the gate, tired eyes scanning for exits while pulling rolling bags. Breath left my lungs, I gripped the small little box tied with purple and black bows tight, looked out for one set of eyes in particular …
This time last year I was a newly out trans girl finally trying to enter the dating world for the first time, and failing miserably. Unrequited heartbreak, romance scammers, abuse and ghosting for who I am, my time on the dating apps didn’t last long.
There she is, pulling her luggage along and looking so damn nervous, she packed up her life into two duffel bags and got on a plane to move here with me. I’m beyond happy that she’s not going back to that country … not with the way things are going for people like us. So here we are, just shy of four months officially together, about to meet for the first time ...
During a month of intentional ‘not looking’ in regards to dating, one bored day I posted a random picture of some fresh choc-chip cookies to a trans group and meme page. Among the few replies was one that for some strange reason I thought was cute. I responded, we soon started talking more ... and more.
I hate the fact that she had to 'boymode' for the trip here, but it didn’t stop me embracing hard and kissing her as I wrapped my arms around her. Letting go, I held out the box, a surprise for her arrival ...
‘Remember the pic that brought us together?’
Nodding, she opened the box. Tears welled in her eyes as she saw inside, choc-chip cookies ...

I've been so out of the loop! I am so happy for you! I do believe there is hope for love unrequited again! Happy Dance from your Swedish fan club:)
This is such a sweet story. It's amazing how a simple post led to this beautiful connection. I can only imagine how nerve-wracking it must've been for both of you. It makes me wonder, though, how did you know right away that there was something special about that initial reply? And what advice would you give to others looking for love in the queer community?
Aww, how sweet! I love it!
This is such a sweet story. It's amazing how a simple post led to such a beautiful connection. I can only imagine how nerve-wracking it must have been for both of you to finally meet. The idea of bringing back that special pic through the cookies is really touching. Made me wonder, though, how do you think social media can play a positive role in more stories like this, connecting people in unique ways?
Chocolate chip cookies always win!!!
