True Colors

Pride is not about the path you choose

Pride is about you succeeding.

Even if you torn me apart,

Crushing my weak old heart

But you have saved me from a potential sin!

(It smiled with a grin,

As you keep me safe within)

Passion is love and strong emotions,

Like you meet a beautiful and cute girl,

When your heart starts to pound,

Like a soft beat in soft rock,

Passion is what you love as your personal self.

Set fire to my pen.

Ignite my words,

Until they’re seared,

Into your memory.

When emotions smolder,

And paper turns to ash,

Sift remnants for lyrics,

Pull verse for remains,

Until inspiration sparks,

And my pen is lit again.

ROYGBIV!

What are the colors?

Red like the burning depths of vicious hell,

Orange like a dragon’s fiery breath,

Yellow like the summer sun and a king’s crown of loyalty,

Grass ain’t greener like money,

Blue like the clear heavenly sky,

Indigo like spirituality, and

Violet like royalty to a king and a queen,

That’s all the colors of the rainbow!

Let’s try that again, shall we?

The pink of your cheeks,

When the cold wind bites.

The intricacy of your iris,

Against the blank of the white.

The blue of a mood,

That is saddened and dull.

The golden jubilation,

Of a cup half full.

The rainbow of joy.

The darkness of sorrow.

The green eye of the monster,

Who consumes your

Todays and tomorrows.

The silver of wisdom;

The green shoots that thrive.

Embrace every color,

For they prove we’re alive.
