Let him be who he is, my friend, don't change him,

His heart and soul belong to him, don't rearrange him.

Society may try to push him to conform,

But true happiness comes from being true to oneself.

It was just a small moment when he told me,

"I'm gay," he said, as if it was no big deal to be.

But it had a big impact on me, his best friend,

I knew that the road ahead would be hard to defend.

We grew up in a world that told us to be a certain way,

To fit into molds that society had created, day by day.

But my friend, he was different, he didn't fit the mold,

And I knew that society's view of him was harsh and cold.

They tried to change him, to make him be like them,

To hide his true self, to not be condemned.

But he stood tall and proud, refusing to conform,

Saying "I am who I am, I will weather this storm."

I watched as he faced discrimination and hate,

As people tried to put him down and berate.

But he held his head high, and never gave in,

He taught me the true meaning of courage and sin.

For society may try to control us and our lives,

But it's up to us to decide, to thrive and survive.

To be true to ourselves, to let our light shine,

And to never let society define.

So let him be who he is, my friend, don't change him,

His heart and soul belong to him, don't rearrange him.

For in his true self, he finds joy and peace,

And that is a small moment that has a big impact, at least.

I remember the first time we met, so long ago,

We were just kids, with our whole lives yet to grow.

We laughed and played, not knowing what lay ahead,

Little did we know the challenges that life would spread.

But as we grew older, I saw a change in him,

He became quieter, as if he was hiding something within.

I didn't know what it was, but I could sense his pain,

And I wanted to help him, to make him smile again.

It was then that he told me, that he was gay,

And I remember feeling both scared and amazed.

Scared for what he might face, in a world so cruel,

But amazed at his bravery, in admitting something so true.

And so, we faced the world together, hand in hand,

With the knowledge that we would always stand,

By each other's side, no matter what came our way,

Together, we would weather any storm, any day.

I watched as he struggled, with society's norms,

As they tried to force him, into a box that wasn't his form.

But my friend, he was strong, he refused to bend,

He held his head high, and refused to pretend.

And as I watched him, I learned a valuable lesson,

That being true to oneself, is always the best option.

That it's okay to be different, to stand out from the crowd,

To let your true colors shine, and to be proud.

We faced many obstacles, on this journey of life,

But my friend always stayed true, in times of strife.

And in his strength, I found my own,

And together, we've grown and flown.

So let him be who he is, my friend, don't change him,

For in his uniqueness, he brings so much wisdom.

He's taught me to be open-minded and accepting,

To embrace differences, and to stop rejecting.

And though society may still try to change him,

To make him conform, to fit within their grim,

We know that he's perfect, just the way he is,

And that his differences make him a true wiz.

So let's celebrate his uniqueness, and all that he brings,

For in his true self, he's a butterfly with wings.

Let's show the world that diversity is beautiful and right,

And that being true to oneself, is worth the fight.

For in this small moment, when he said, "I'm gay,"

Our lives were forever changedy, in a good way.

And though we faced challenges and trials,

We came out stronger, with bigger smiles.

So let's keep walking, down this path of life,

With our heads held high, and our hearts alight.

Let's embrace differences, and let them shine,

For in the end, it's what makes us divine.

Though the road may be long and tough,

We'll walk it together, and never give up.

Though the world may try to dim his light,

We'll always be there, to help him shine bright.
