Keyless Unlocking

A poem on trust, motion and shared directions

Two men walking toward a shared journey — under the northern lights, where motion and trust become one. Created with ChatGPT on my prompt Nov. 2025

There are moments when closeness feels like an ignition — not mechanical, but emotional.

We learn to unlock each other not with keys, but with presence, patience, and the gentle art of listening.

This poem is about that journey — the quiet drive where trust becomes motion, and love becomes our shared direction.

Keyless Unlocking

Just a touch — the right place,

Wind me in that way.

Don’t just slide the key in

and twist.

.

Feel me, see how I respond.

Sit quietly by my side.

A door may need closing

behind you.

.

Look forward — see the beauty.

Perhaps the window needs cleaning;

decades of breath and fingerprints

can vanish, if you will it.

The effort is yours to choose.

.

Greet me, see me waiting there —

the coachman on the carriage seat,

the white horse pulling forward.

.

Will you enjoy the ride with me?

Then release your handbrake first,

and learn to roll

until we match our speed.

.

Acceleration — a shared decision,

if there’s charge enough

in the floor of our electric tomorrow.

.

Navigate our dreams,

reach a destination unknown.

Rain and storm may shake the frame,

yet we’re safe in our quiet bell.

.

Fog may blur our path —

fog lights keep us from losing track.

It will lift; the sun will shine again,

even when the night is thickest black.

.

“To travel is to live.”

So live life in Drive, not Reverse —

though Reverse may help

when we find a dead end.

.

We’ll try again — don’t step off.

Together we’ll find our way back.

.

We rush toward the next charging station,

stretch our legs as the current hums,

glance around at others

who also have needs.

.

Return to my vessel —

a new beginning starts now.

.

Author’s Note

“Keyless Unlocking” was born from the thought that connection requires more than access — it needs awareness.

Love and companionship, like modern travel, depend on trust, timing, and mutual rhythm.

The poem explores how we open to one another — not through keys or commands, but by presence, care, and the quiet courage to move forward together, even through fog and rain.
