Flying Home
thoughts in the sky heading to Christmas
By Savannah K. WilsonPublished about a year ago • Updated about a year ago • 1 min read

a late pre-Christmas poem about 'Home' & 'Family'
Flying ...
I'm flying away
Away from the tears, the fights
The dead naming
The misgendering
'Home' no longer a place for Christmas
For laughter and cheer
So I fly, I fly away, but also fly towards
Towards something ...
To warmth, to acceptance & joy
In a way I fly to what is missing
Flying to family
Accepting and unconditional love
I'm flying home
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wrote this while on a flight to a very last minute Christmas away, which has proved to be just what my soul needed in so many ways ... 🩷
