Loving Your Own Kind

My fragile heart spoke to me and said it’s different, she’s different,

She’s the jewel of July and the ethereal child,

Her majestic soul is pure and transparent,

She loves another girl which is said to be a sin of the wild,

Unanswered questions drift our floating minds further and further from each other,

Love is hard already, but harder when you love your own kind,

No, she does not see her as a sister from another mother,

She’s the love of her life and they are set to bind,

They say fire on fire is the worst coalition on the chart,

But all I see is that with a bigger flame the light gets brighter,

Her sagittarius pierced an arrow in my leo heart,

And now my mind and body will always be hers,

My door slams open wide and all my day dreams are shattered into a million pieces,

Yes mom, I am going to prom with Gage,

I look back at her and she catches my gaze as my heart rate increases,

The mirror never lies but I must keep myself in this miserable cage.
