. "Born to Rise: A Farmer’s Son’s Dream"

This story is myself life real life story

By Dr Afaq Ahmad Published 9 months ago 3 min read

In the quiet village of Tajori, nestled deep in the heart of Lakki Marwat, a boy named Afaq was born into a humble home. His family had little, but what they lacked in wealth, they made up for in love. His father, Wasiullah Khan, was unable to work due to circumstances that weighed heavy on their home. Life was not easy. The pressure of daily expenses, school fees, and household needs often fell on tired shoulders. But Allah never leaves His people alone.

It was Afaq’s mother and uncle who stood like mountains behind the family. His mother, with eyes full of prayers and a heart full of sacrifice, did everything she could to keep the home together. His uncle, a kind and supportive man, stepped in like a silent angel, paying for Afaq’s school fees and ensuring he never had to leave his education due to poverty.

From a young age, Afaq was a curious and hardworking child. He didn’t have the latest books or fancy uniforms, but he had something more powerful — a burning dream. Every time he saw his mother tired, every time he heard someone say "you can’t make it," his will grew stronger. He studied under lantern light, sometimes hungry, but never hopeless.

He passed Matric in 2021 from Tajori Model School, and then completed his FSc in 2023. That day, when the result came, and he saw that he had passed, he felt a moment of deep joy — not just because he succeeded, but because he had made his uncle and mother proud.

With God’s help and his family’s prayers, Afaq made his way to Peshawar for further studies. He was now a BSc Agriculture student at university — a dream he never thought would come true. The city was big, fast, and strange. Hostel life was challenging, and expenses became a daily stress. But Afaq didn’t complain. Instead, he took up part-time delivery work alongside his studies. He would attend classes in the day and deliver food, documents, or packages in the evening. Tired feet, aching back, and empty pockets — but a full heart. Because he knew why he was doing all of it: for his family.

Even though life in Peshawar was tough, Afaq found small joys in simple things — a call from his mother, a visit to his cousins, or even the memory of goats and sheep back home, especially the times he watched a newborn animal take its first steps. That brought him peace.

But not all days were easy. There were moments when sadness knocked on his heart. When he saw others with everything he never had — rich clothes, personal transport, or fancy meals — he felt a silent pain. But then, he would remember his family’s sacrifices, his mother’s weak eyesight, his uncle’s support, and the dream that pushed him forward. He was not just studying for himself. He was building a bridge to a better future for them all.

His biggest dream was not luxury, not fame. It was simple but powerful: to get a government job, ideally in the Intelligence Bureau or Air Force, and to one day return home with pride, saying to his mother, “You can rest now.” If not that, then he hoped to complete his agriculture degree and work in the field, using his knowledge to help farmers and feed the nation.

Afaq’s dream wasn’t built overnight. It was made in silence, in hardship, in nights of hunger, and days of hope. His life was not full of privileges, but it was full of purpose. He found joy in giving something to his family, even if small. A gift, a little money, or just a proud smile on his mother’s face — that meant more to him than anything else.

If he had one magical day to spend, he wouldn’t go on a vacation or buy something for himself. He would take his mother for proper eye treatment. Because to him, seeing her happy, healthy, and proud was the real success.

This is not just a story of a boy. It’s the story of every child who rises from the soil of hardship to the sky of dreams. Afaq walks with heavy shoes, but light in his heart. He may not be there yet, but every day he’s moving closer to a future where poverty is behind him, and peace is ahead.

One day, the world will know the name Afaq. Not because he had everything, but because he made everything from nothing — with faith, family, and fire in his soul.
