Sky Above, Strength Below
#The Tale of the Lion and the Eagle#

Long ago, in a vast and wild land, the sky was ruled by an eagle named Eira, and the earth below was ruled by a lion named Lumo.
Eira soared high above the mountains, gliding on the wind with her golden feathers shining like the sun. She saw everything — rivers winding through the grasslands, herds of antelope dancing across the plains, and the tiniest rabbits hopping beneath the trees.
Lumo, the lion, was strong and proud. His roar could shake the leaves off trees. With his golden mane and mighty paws, he protected his kingdom with courage and care. All the animals on land respected him, even the cheeky monkeys.
- But Eira and Lumo never spoke.
“The sky is mine,” Eira would say to the wind. “I see what others cannot. I fly where none can follow.”The land is mine,” Lumo would growl. “I guard what others cannot. I walk where none dare tread.”
Though they lived in the same world, they kept to their realms — sky above, strength below.
- One summer, something changed.
The rivers began to dry. The grass turned yellow. The trees grew tired and stopped growing new leaves. A great drought had come.
The animals whispered in fear. The elephants couldn’t find enough water. The zebras traveled farther each day to graze. Even the birds struggled to find places to rest. From the sky, Eira watched the land with worry. “I can see everything,” she said. “But I cannot bring rain.”
On the ground, Lumo paced near the last muddy waterhole. “I am strong,” he growled. “But I cannot dig rivers or make the rain fall.”
- For the first time, the lion and the eagle felt helpless.
One evening, as the red sun dipped low, Eira circled above and spotted Lumo, sitting alone beneath a withered tree. With a deep breath, she swooped down and landed on a low branch.
- Lumo blinked in surprise.
“We have never spoken,” Eira said softly. “ But perhaps now is the time.Lumo looked up.The land is suffering.Eira nodded. The sky weeps no more. The clouds have vanished. They sat in silence, the eagle on her branch, the lion on the dry earth.
Finally, Lumo said, “You can see what I cannot. Perhaps you can help me find water.”“And you can reach where I cannot,” Eira replied. “Perhaps together, we can save our home.”
And so, for the first time, the eagle and the lion became a team.
At dawn, Eira flew higher than ever before, scanning every corner of the land. She spotted a patch of green far beyond the hills — a hidden valley where trees still stood tall and a river still flowed.
She swooped back to Lumo. “I’ve seen a place — far away. There is water there. But the path is dangerous.”“Then I shall lead the way,” Lumo said with a firm nod. “And you will guide us from above.”
Together, they gathered the animals. “Follow us,” Lumo roared. “There is hope beyond the hills!”journey was long. The sun was harsh. But with Eira’s eyes in the sky and Lumo’s strength on the ground, the animals moved forward.
When a canyon blocked their path, Eira found a safer trail. When wild dogs threatened the young, Lumo stood guard. When some grew tired, they rested beneath trees that Eira had spotted ahead.
- And finally — after many days — they reached the green valley.
There, the river sparkled in the sunlight. Trees offered shade. The grass was fresh and sweet. The animals cheered. They drank. They danced. They rested .And at the edge of the river, Eira and Lumo, stood side by side. From that day forward, the lion and the eagle were no longer strangers.
- Lumo still ruled the land.
- Eira still watched from the sky.
But now, they listened to each other, learned from each other, and led together when needed.'Because even though one ruled the earth and the other ruled the sky, they both learned a powerful truth:Strength alone cannot protect all.
- Vision alone cannot lead all.
- But together — strength and sky — can move mountains.
- The End.

This story is really something. It makes you think about how different beings, even those with their own domains, can come together in times of trouble. I like how Eira and Lumo realize they're both affected by the drought. It shows that sometimes we need to set aside our differences. Do you think there are other ways they could've solved the problem instead of just talking? It also makes me wonder what would've happened if they couldn't find a solution. Would the land have just dried up completely?
