No one who runs regularly is weak.

Running, a form of fitness, is also a form of practice.

Let's start with the story of two people.

One is journalist Phil Hewitt.

Once, after watching a ball game, he couldn't get a cab and skipped alone to a neighborhood known for poor security, with an expensive camera around his neck.

Unexpectedly, some thugs set their sights on Phil and tried to rob him of his camera.

After a fight, Phil fell to the ground in agony until a delivery man showed up and took him to the hospital.

Phil was left with 15 stitches, three broken ribs, a bruised liver and fell into a severe stress disorder, afraid to go out on his own.

Once he tried to go out on his own, he suddenly became short of breath and cried as he stood alone in the parking lot of a supermarket.

Phil knew that he had to reduce his dependence on the outside world and re-establish a sense of security.

He decided to start running.

When he first started running, he was exhausted and out of breath within a few moments, and his feet were so sore that he couldn't hear himself, but every time he reached the tipping point, he would try to run on.

And, he participated in various marathons, from New York to Tokyo, from London to Paris, from Amsterdam to Dublin.

Phil conquered himself and felt that he was not the "stabbed Phil", but the "Phil who ran 30 marathons".

He was no longer afraid to go out for interviews and was able to handle his work with ease.

The reborn Phil wrote the book "Running Through the Clouds" in the hope that everyone can find a stronger version of themselves through running.

Another one is blogger @Lin Yun, an entrepreneur doing cross-border e-commerce.

Because of the pressure of entrepreneurship, he is often so anxious that he can't sleep, and this state of mind affects his work efficiency, and his life is caught in a vicious circle.

Lin Yun realized that he couldn't go on like this, so he searched the Internet for some knowledge about running, asked some runners in the entrepreneurial circle, and made a detailed running program for himself.

From running for 20 minutes to running for more than an hour, from 8 to 11 mph, he subconsciously pushed his limits.

This was a difficult process for the novice runner to endure.

There were countless times when he was so tired that he didn't want to move at all, but he gritted his teeth and kept running.

There were countless times when he wanted to cut himself down on his times and laps, but fearing that if he let off steam once, he would keep on letting off steam, he finally decided to push himself.

Half a year later, his sleep condition had improved a lot and he had more energy.

His partner had been amazed at the change in his mental outlook and asked him curiously if running was really so amazing.

He smiled and said, when you slowly increase the speed and the number of laps, and keep on challenging, running will give you great confidence and courage.

In fact, he still doesn't like running.

Because running is very boring, and the spirit is suffering every minute and every second at the back.

Every time you run, there are two little people pulling inside, one shouting to give up and the other shouting to cheer.

However, Lin Yun agrees with Haruki Murakami's point of view: I don't want to run today, that's why I'm running.

He feels that if a person keeps defeating himself in running, he will also defeat himself in other fields.

Why these two stories?

I think it can be answered by an episode in "Iron Teeth, Copper Teeth, Ji Xiaolan".

Regarding Ji Xiaolan's quitting smoking or not, Heshen said these two words:

"He Ji Xiaolan can't even quit smoking, what else can he accomplish?"

"Ji Xiaolan actually managed to quit smoking, what else could he not do?"

The same is true for people like Phil Hewitt and Lin Yun who can run several thousand meters every day without fail, what other difficulties can't they overcome.

None of the regular runners are weak.

They have to develop the habit of self-discipline, will not fish in three days and sunshine in two days, business is busy, socializing more, but also adhere to the plan to run.

They have a strong will, even if their feet are like lead, gasping like a broken bellows, they will force themselves to fight inertia and endure fatigue.

And self-discipline habits and strong will are also important factors in a person's success.

In the end, the philosophy of running is also the philosophy of life.

Like Warren Buffett in the shareholders meeting to select a successor, there is said that the marathon results are hard indicators.

Long-distance running requires enduring tedium and controlling desires, which is exactly in line with Buffett's business and investment philosophy.

Zhang Chaoyang also runs every day, he has talked about his own running philosophy, no matter how tired you are, how much you want to stop, but you can still run on, this is a kind of will quality, this will quality determines the height of your life.

Life is like running, and running is like life.

If you are afraid of pain and tiredness, and give up when you encounter setbacks, you will only achieve nothing in the end.

Only by gritting your teeth, taking one more step and holding on for one more second can you grow.

There is a saying that a person's strength starts with running.

When we think of running, we probably think of staying healthy and honing our will.

In fact, it also enlivens the mind and changes the mindset.

Running, for example, is the key to unlocking the shackles of the mind.

Dr. Paul Lopley of the United States conducted an experiment.

He selected a group of adults aged 18 to 35 and asked them to record 15 complex vocabulary words of the same difficulty before, during and after running.

The results showed that people memorized the best after running.

This is because running improves blood circulation, allowing more oxygen, into the brain.

The brain metabolizes faster, works better, and is naturally more efficient.

Contemporary American female writer Joyce Carol Oates, when she writes, sometimes her thoughts are confused, and then she feels particularly frustrated and even desperate.

Whenever she encounters such a situation, she will choose to run to help herself open her mind and get out of the writing bottleneck.

Running is also a source of replenishing inner energy.

Lei Jun said: Running is a kind of precipitation, otherwise the heart cannot be still.

Lei Jun liked to run when he was in the trough of Kingsoft, when Kingsoft met the challenge of Microsoft.

His heart was full of anxiety, in order to change this situation, he began to force himself to run 5 kilometers every day.

If there is one thing in the world that can make a person get rid of anxiety quickly, that thing must be running.

Whether it's running 3 kilometers around the neighborhood, running 5 kilometers on a treadmill, or having a marathon, it will make your heart feel more open than ever.

So never underestimate someone who keeps running, every step they take is changing their mindset and harvesting energy.
