Zenith is a short spoken word story about sacrifice, evolution and change

Zenith

It took me awhile

to embrace the discomfort

of being sorely uncomfortable

But to my surprise, once I adapted

I found peace

Upon accepting that

the broad hands of time had turned,

I then made myself at home

I lost sight of you

while you stood still

And when my time came

I never thought

it would mean goodbye

Moments like this remind me

of what could have been

Tonight, I’ll smoke

to what should have been

Success has not been faithful

but it has been consistent enough

to obtain what I thought I wanted

and for now, I am content…
