Zen by Wren

A haiku

"A little bird—wren,

perched on a jacaranda.

serves us song of Zen."

Note:

This spring, we visited a nearby farm often. Near the little free library stood a jacaranda tree.

Each time we went there, a wren would come, perch on its branches, and sing—every single time.

Sometimes, there were two of them, and soon we heard loud, cheerful chirps. We discovered a bird nest under the wooden gate of the farm, close to the tree.

The wren gave us so much joy and Zen— just by being itself, doing it's duty, living it's life.
